Default How Not To Drive A Subaru

i made a terrible decision
this is what happened to my subaru my first time attempting to drive rally. if anyone is interested i have a video
I was driving for 4 hours practicing that road that day, and then i decided to record. Its all downhill from there

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cpiu...wVJuASad-reRiQ
the crash is at 5:00 so feel free to skip to the end

i understand this wasn't the smartest decision so please don't comment on how much of a bad choice i made, enjoy!

I have nothing to contribute to this thread other than asking did you seriously beep your horn on the way into the hillside?

No, she didn't jinx you.

Obviously she is just a lot more intelligent than you.

I think the worst part of the video was that it was filmed in portrait mode.

When I was a wee young driver, I took my 1980 Subaru DL out into the woods for some hooning around. I ended up sliding halfway off the dirt road, with the car perpendicular to the direction of the road, which was raised up on a gravel berm, and high centered the car so no wheels were on the ground. This was way before cell phones, so I was totally stranded for about fifteen minutes, until a random pickup truck came by and stopped to help. They had a winch and pulled me off the berm. Then I drove around in the forest to pick up speed and bounced back up onto the roadway.

It was a good lesson, and a good story I could tell later.

I'm glad neither you nor your passenger were injured. Be careful out there.

Looks like you moved the front right wheel. What all was the damage?
Rally driver scout the course before they race. Might try that and gradually go faster. The more the merrier is not always true specially when crashing.

I feel like people are being quite unfair here. Sure you made a dumb decision to drive too fast on a slippery surface WITH someone in the car but you weren't flying down a busy road, you weren't drunk, the damage looks negligible in the pictures *although there obviously would be some*
And you know you made a dumb decision, so lesson hopefully learned.
