I actually dig that! Might even be something I would think about doing. Wonder how close that blue is to WRB though....

exactly. don't get caught up in all the hype.

don't get me wrong i love my STi, but for a daily driver that is only getting a catback, and maybe a drop the wrx is better suited for you.

but honestly just go drive them.

My plan is to keep my sti and turn it into a weekend warrior car once I move on to the next DD. I would rather the transmission and heads alone over the WRX for a built block and power adaptability. It made sense for me and I could afford it, so why not?

I did get a pretty good deal. I think I actually thought about buying that car but I wanted pbp more. They had it there when I preordered mine.

Where can I find those name plates that cover the front license plate mounting bracket? Or are those custom?

You can get them here:
http://www.fastwrx.com/bilalfronbum.html

You have to drill holes in the bumper to attach it or if the dealer drilled holes for license plate mounting then you already have them. They are shown in the picture at the bottom in the link above.

what are the reasons for you to get an sti? do you NEED brembo's, the diffs, higher insurance, etc etc.

the wrx is a great car, and is no slouch. if you don't plan to track it, or do any of such things, a wrx will be plenty. however there is far more than just a 6-speed and wing that make the difference in price between a base wrx and a base STi.

also, the 5-speed is much nicer for city driving. the WRX is so much softer than the STi. even when my car was bone stock, it rode nothing like the wrx. so if you're buying a car to leave alone, and daily. get a wrx. if you're planning to mod, and go for power and track, get an STi.

just my $.02
Pretty much agree. Thats the main reason I have a WRX right now. I never track but enjoy a nice solid, quick car, and the WRX does all that for me and more. DP, tune, some hawk hps brake pads, sway bars, endlinks, coilovers and a short throw with front and rear bushings pretty much turns the car into a whole other animal thank stock too. I also am a little more concerned with straight line speed than turns, (mainly because I DD the car and I'm usually driving generally straight, but do also enjoy to go in the twisties ) so the 180 lbs and one less shift that the WRX has actually gives it a (very) slight edge when up against an STI with similar power/mods.

I am now 7 grand in with my car and really have no buyers remorse for the STI.

once you see the wheels in person they really grow on you.

and tone down the HDR over editing on the pictures, doesn't do it justice. and go to a longer exposure with a higher f-stop when you're trying to shoot headlights on. tripod tripod tripod.

i love this picture, i'll post it again

That picture is so sick. Looks unreal. Would love to see a tilt-shift variation (had one been taken of course)!

i'm not that good with editing my pictures. so if anyone wants to do some tilt shift stuff or mess around with anything all my raw files can be found on my flickr. or if any one just wants high res shots in general...here ya go. all my 'work'
