You are still wrong, regardless what you think, and you are still encouraging other members to commit fraud. If you think it's OK to commit fraud, that's on you, but don't try to get others to become a criminal, too. This topic has been covered ad nauseum, and you are a fool if you believe that Subaru wrote their computer programs so they would have no way of knowing if someone was trying to defraud them.

Also, it shouldn't void the warranty anyways.

Just my opinion, but I think that flat black car with weird colored wheels looks terrible. To each their own though. As long as it makes you happy.

I also think that trying to "scam" Subaru by modding the car and then hiding it is BS. If you want to mod the car, be willing to pay if they deny a warranty claim. In fact, I hope they can tell.

Anyways, here's a photo of my car from this weekend:

Here she is. New wheels and rubber installed this past week, and I must say... I like the new shoes. Enkei Raijin in Bright Silver.

Subaru doesn't de-tune their cars to post HP gains, they de-tune the car so they don't detonate as easily. Why do you think your car runs so effn rich?
Further, your comments are not true. I've seen the ECU print out that shows the last flash on your ECU. Don't be that guy that spreads this much BS.

You are right, if the tech wants to know... they can find it. I had my car at Subaru a few weeks ago concerning a bunch of lights that pop-up on my dashboard. They pulled the codes to see if it was over boosting, they pulled my last flash, they also fixed my brake sensor so I don't light up like a christmas tree twice a month. The printout showed the date of last flash, the service manager asked me why I my car was flashed after it was purchased because there were no TSB's for the 2011. I told him proudly (clinching my butt cheeks) AP stage 1. He grinned and said that I was lucky that the fault for my lights was a brake sensor issue. As far as I know, I still have a warranty. I have a feeling, if I lied he would've flagged me.

Be honest and the service people are more likely to respect that, than if you you BS them. Its funny, I felt like one of my patients who I ask questions I know the answer of, just to see if they are honest. If they are honest, I usually don't embarrass them... if they lie, I ask more questions until they tell the truth.

Gotta pay to play people! Don't expect Subaru to give you a free motor because some ****ty map you were running made your motor $hit itself!

its annoying but thats the way it goes, new cars=more expensive parts. nothing we can do about it but suck it up and pay. you're lucky, a year ago there were no lips out for the car at all.

that is definitely shopped.

as far as modding and voiding warranty, there is a grey area but please stop spreading false information that cars are running 'de-tuned'. by this logic the sti should have gained HP every year a new model cam out, but please show me how much it gained from 04 until 2012? oh wait, STILL 305 at the crank...

if anything subaru tunes the cars like ****, and leans them out in the mid-rpm range for emissions. ever see a stock tune on the dyno? there is a HUGE dip at around 4k. if you mod, forget warranty, you have to pay to play. xluben is right, mod with the worst case in mind and if you can't justify that, then don't mod.

^ this!!!!

The stock tune runs lean through the midband not rich. That is why the stock tune feels like it shutters through 4-5500 RPM's or so. As Jive said...the stock dyno plots look horrible and you can thank the EPA/emissions standards for that. The COBB maps actually run rich so it can be safer while increasing boost and advancing timing. Better to run rich than lean to make OTS maps that everyone is safe to use.

Modding does not void warranty. You can have a full engine build and if your window motor goes bad they will still replace it. Mod parts preparing for worst case scenario and don't get butt hurt if they deny your claim. Your warranty was not voided...your claim was denied.

spoken like a true specialist.

they can't just take away your warranty, can deny claims. once again, please read. but don't mod and then expect subaru to fix what you ****ed up.
