I'm waiting to hear back from a Senior Supervisor at SoA, though I doubt she'll call. I'll take the initiative again next week starting Monday. This whole situation has been jacked since I purchased the car, so now I'm just trying to raise awareness.
Thats great. I havent had my tranny "issues" fixed, but god the noises make me uncomfortable. Honestly, a lot of the technical talk is over my head, as I know little about trannys and drivetrain stuff. What symptoms did you have before the **** hit the fan?

If I had a do over PBP sti sedan w/ ts wing..lol. not because I think the sedan looks better, just don't like the rattles and road noise the hatch brings, coupled with the tail light dilemma and the fact that average joe's think hatches/wagons are hideous. I'd probably just get a golf R for that kind of money though.
Golf R is a cool car imo, but VW...no thanks. Way too expensive for what you get as well. Plus you cannot argue with this (packed to capacity):

Weighed down side shot:

Notice there is no light getting through. So much utility in the hatch, and not much out there competes when you consider AWD, performance, price, utility, quality (other than the topic at hand) and whatnot...imo.

speaking of golf R. i'm slowly going around looking for a next car to get for a DD. heavily considering a jetta DIESEL. flly loaded with nab for 24k in manual and you get 700~ miles out of a tank. great DD if you ask me. the dealer had the gold R there, took it for a test drive and honestly for 37k that car is severely underpowered. it is just a awd gti essentially. i don't see how it could even compete with the wrx let alone an sti. the only thing it has is interior build quality, but being a VW that is young to fall apart and fail at any time.

for the money, the wrx hatch is hands down the best bang for your buck. no arguing that.

Thanks! I'm going to do something with the suspension eventually, but I'm not in any rush. I like that iPhone pic!

long story short. i don't want to keep this car after the accident, i'm a perfectionist and this car's body work to me is NOT the same..but most don't even know what i'm on about here...they think i'm nuts

also, its either i get another car like the STI and have a payment or get into a affordable car that is great to DD and have almost no payment. i'm in law school now so i'd rather save for 3 years and then buy another fast car after school when i get a real job. its just smarter to do this than have another car that i have to try to not mod and etc etc...growing up sucks, i'll really miss the sti but i have to do it because its the fiscally responsible thing to do

either way i'm up in the air between brz and jetta/golf diesel. i'll obviously still mod them but only the basics, not like my sti oh and no i will NOT ever sell my works

brz. No question. Vw's are notorious for electrical problems (of what ive heard). Also wont your works be compatible with the brz?

Subaru > VW end of story. Is your Sti payed for? Because if it is just keep it. So what if it's wreck. Wrap that mother****er in white and keep your same setup. It would look sick. I kind of want to wrap my car... I miss my SWP sedan

Do not wrap your car. You will regret it after a year. Especially if you wrap it white. Look into dipyourcar .com That's what I'm doing next. Vinyl wraps get trashed so easily. I'm not affiliated with dipyourcar.com in any way but I use to do vinyl wraps and my car was vinyl wrapped matte white for a year and it was horrible. Just YouTube dipyourcar.com and watch a few of their videos. Much easier to apply, less time, and easy fix for nicks, tares and scratches.

It's cool, I'm still learning about all of this myself. I mod from the outside going in.

Basically my 3rd would pop out and grind and then 4th started popping out, all from very casually shifting, no racing. I would let other people drive the car (which was already severely limited after replacing the clutch at 20k miles) and they'd have the same issue, no racing. It would suck because my car was loud and quick, so I'd get into 3rd gradually and then it would grind from not setting in properly. Since I bought the car it was 3rd gear getting worse, and 4th gear followed in about February of this year.

Basically, if your up-shifting isn't smooth through all the gears and you're having to put extra umph into any gear, I would recommend (HIGHLY) that you put your car back to stock, call SoA to open up a warranty claim, then go to a trusted dealer to have them test drive the car and see if they can replicate the issue.

Found this yesterday. Female driver. Sedan.

Jump that wood!!!

Vinyl wrap is so expensive. I Did my car myself got the vinyl at cost cause I use to sell it in mass and it was such a waste of money. One little nick or scratch and you have to replace the whole panel worth of vinyl. Such a head ach. Good luck.
