Went to work today replacing some more of Subaru's crap stock bushings. 10 in total on the rear end.

Whiteline Rear Subframe Bushings
Whiteline Rear Trailing Arm Bushings
Whiteline Rear Control arm - Upper Inner Bushing (camber correction)

Caved in and went Stage 1 yesterday. Car is definitely smoother, and have noticed a sizable increase in MPG.

Today, I decided to fix the rattle that's been plaguing the rear shelf. I must have stuffed enough foam tape, weather strip and duct tape to completely nullify the stage 1 gains almost makes me wish I went with a hatch.

For those of you sedan owners who are interested:

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2121790

in addition, i duct taped all the wires and plastic brackets that had a decent amount of play in them. Very simple fix.

lol trust me, you don't wish you got a hatch if you don't like rattles. Hatch has more road noise in addition to the rattles.

+1 my brother has a 2012 wrx hatch and it's a pretty noticeable increase in volume over the sedan, in terms of road noise and just base drone. Can't imagine what it would be like with a louder exhaust :P

I don't mind road noise really; hell my old RSX-S was less of a car than a collection of rattles and butt numbing vibration. I mean it rattled in the cold, but not the constant buzz-rattle that the subaru rear shelf was throwing out. To me, the feels STI more refined if that makes sense at all lol

the issue i had with my rsx was that it was at 3900 rpms at 80mph which could get annoying. Although I had innovative motor mounts which made it worse...especially after I added the front mount. The super tight steering got annoying on the highway too. Still I think the WRX is more annoying somehow, but I guess I'd have to drive them back to back

Nice work for one day!

Notice a difference at all with handling or NVH? How was the install of the subframe bushings?

Just installed the rear diff inserts with Group N trans mount and crossmember bushings from Whiteline and am super stoked on the improvement but have been contemplating the rear subframe bushings as well.....

Actually, I did almost instantly. I did these on the recommendation of Myles at RaceComp Engineering. Like everything Myles has recommended...he was spot on. The rear end feels a lot more unified is the best way I can explain it. I didn't feel any more roughness or noise in the ride, but the car tracks better...has a better turn in feeling and more steering response mid turn. Basically, the entire rear end of the car is now on par with the front and feels much more balanced. I can't wait to really push the setup.

Had some bites but nothing solid yet. They are still for sale. The install on the rear subframe bushing isn't that bad since you are not removing any bushings. A couple of them required a little bit of trimming. It is definitely easier with a lift.

well for the first 150 miles driving it EASY for break in with the occasional goosing i was seeing 21-23 (75% hwy 25%city) now the DAY i flashed to torque performance stage 1 ( have not tried Cobb stage 1 ) i got 31.4 mpg from my job to home ( when i seen the numbers so high it became like a game ) but with normal driving i get at least 26-29.

this car has the same size tank as my 04 Chevy Malibu classic did and its much more fuel efficient, normally yesterday is my refueling point, i still have a slight under half a tank left.
