Correct thread.

Decelerating in second gear is incredibly noisy for me, I don't think it's normal but it's over 50,000 miles and still seems to work fine, so... I'm not spending money on it.

I got a ton of whine in 2 and vibrations in 5/6 in the shifter, but that was because I didn't zip tie the cables at all. Once I got that done, it was fine, however I felt the TWM setup was a bit TOO short.

I have been driving my 135i daily and the STI once a week or so and I actually hate just about everything about the car now. Pedal box is awkward, everything squeaks, road noise is HORRENDOUS, my gear box feels super notchy and stiff and the clutch feels squishy. Seats aren't supportive or comfortable at all.

Well that's what BMW specializes in man. All bmws are smooth and quit. The Germans do it well, I will give them that. But I'd take an Sti over the 135 any day just because I feel like bmws are to expensive when it comes to repairs and stuff. I wouldn't mind having one for a weekend car but personally i couldn't drive one everyday

I live about 45 mins from the Dragon and I think NASIOC has designated dates for cruises on it.

Does it throw off your speedometer when you run bigger wheels like Jive's 18/9.5 275/35?

The STi comes with 18" wheels, so unless the tires are taller than stock, the radius (and thus, circumference) of the wheel/tire combo remains the same, and the speedo should be correct. Width doesn't matter at all.

I haven't seen my car in 2 and a half weeks. It sucks being in school.

what the guy above me said.

my speedo reads off by less than .5mph...negligible.

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

go there to answers to your questions about speedo and what tire you'll need to run. 275/35/18 is almost spot on

Are people really this dumb/lazy? Just type it into the calculator or do a Google search. That tire size has a nearly identical OD to the OEM tires.

For once, we are in agreement, Ben. Dudes been given the reference to figure out twice now. If he/she can't figure it out now, they probably have 0 business being behind the wheel of anything.
