Ugh, looking at all of these just makes the wait even harder

Anyone know if there's a quicker turnaround time for base WRX/STis (just getting spoiler and fogs, I figure they can install those at the dealership anyways)? Or is it a wild goose chase finding any trim level? From the "order thread" It appears that waiting 2 months is now beginning to look sweet compared to the rumored 4-6 month wait i've been hearing about. Oh well, this just means i'll be able to save more for that down payment.

where is c-miller when you need him.

those facebook pictures look pretty damn good!

my sti didn't have fogs, i bought those after the fact and took me maybe 20 minutes to install and what spoiler are you talking about?
jut find the car you want, all other accessories you can always add later and not get raped by dealer install prices.

I just like the look and function of fog lights. I'm just use to cruising around in my Mustang with just the fog/parking lights on, but hey that's just me. I'm talking about the WRX deck lid spoiler for $345.00.

I plan on doing all future mods myself anyways which is why i'm getting a base model. I like the look of the deck lid spoiler and for $345.00 painted that doesn't seem like a lot to me. Do they charge to install it? If so just hand me the painted spoiler and i'll do it myself lol.

Maybe i'm getting a skewed outlook from basing my consensus around the wait-time from the "order thread."

I didn't feel like dealing with any Port Installs being tacked on or options/trims, so I just ordered bare bones STI sedan back in early October.
Delivery date is set for Dec 26th.

Thanks for the reply! I'm hoping I get lucky and a customer backs out of a previously ordered car

The one on the car posted earlier is not the Rallyinnovations bar is it? It looks nothing like that one. I like the one posted here better since its smaller than the RallyInnovations bar, unless theres two versions of that bar and I'm missing something

It is the ultimate light bar. The bottom section is not offered on our models, just older ones. I am sure you can call them up to ask if they would just make the bottom and they might do it. They were very friendly and were all for customization when we talked.

The dealer charges install on everything. And fyi unless you want to rewire your rrpay there is no way to run just foglights.

Also, the foglights on these cars do nothing. Literally you cant see them on when headlights are on because of the angle we sit at compared to the output they produce.

My suggestion is get the car you want. Install the rest yourself for much cheaper than what dealer would sell you the parts + labor.

I decided to do some boost vs. power comparisons tonight (just for fun). First I started with a few logs with the MBC backed out all the way. The car was hitting about 20psi and was basically flat to redline. Pulling them up in Virtual Dyno showed nice consistent results!

Because that looked good, I decided to turn the MBC up halfway to where it normally is at. I did a couple logs and it peaked close to 24psi, with a little taper down to around 22psi. Then to finish it off I turned the MBC up to my normal spot and it was just barely touching 27psi and then tapering down close to 24-25psi.

Looking at the boost and torque (for the 24psi and 27psi graphs especially) you can see that I probably did have a slight uphill for run 1 and slight downhill for run 2 of each set. This slightly affected spool and peak torque. But overall the results are very consistent.

And here is the plot with just one run from each boost setting. Solid, incremental gains with each change in boost. This is a nice, easy way to see how increasing the boost can really bump up the power (assuming the turbo is still able to flow enough air). It also shows why people running this turbo (or similar ones) at lower boost tend to see lower power.

^ Awesome write up, very cool to see the different graphs, especially the consistency like you mention.
