I asked myself the same thing after the hassle lol. The reason I didnt do it myself is because my dealer had a good sale on the part last month and was also offering free installation on all accessories so I said why not.

Have you ever messed with the stock heat shield? I'm not saying it's hard but it is kind of a pita. Not to mention half the bolts broke when I took mine off and I can see people cutting their hands up on it too. I don't even think you can get to have the bolts from the top, so if you don't have a lift it's even more irritating.

this. i sliced my entire right hand open because the bolts were torqued so tight. whatever little asian man that put my car together must have had a bad day needless to say, i returned the favor when i put my car back to stock before i traded it in, who ever is going to mod it will earn it

I'm running naked.
I think I'll get a blanket when I put my new TMIC on in the spring though.

This is the ideal combo (although the SPT shield can be the aftermarket shield of your choice).

Oh, I think that's just the flash.

Edit: being the paranoid person I am. I just checked; there is indeed some fog in there right now........

Yup, common problem. It will come and go. It's worse in the winter. Mine are have a nice coating of "grime" inside them from fogging so badly at times.

Just read the posts about it through search. Should I even bother trying to complain about this to the dealer tomorrow?

Hopefully once I retrofit them, it may remedy the problem

Some are worse than others. Some people get them replaced. Sometimes it helps, sometimes they're worse, lol.

Well I went for a 20 min drive before I saw your post and went to check on it. It wasn't so bad. Hopefully it will be minimal.

Yeah, it will come and go. If it's never worse than that photo I wouldn't worry. Mine would completely fog, to the point that water would run down in droplets inside the housing.
