Got around to starting on my tail light overlays. Got half done before realizing I would probably eff up the outside on my own so ill be patient and wait for a shop to do it. other than that, I also went ahead and carbon wrapped my rear tow hook cover. its all work in progress

Sorry but I don't like the carbon fiber on the tow hook cover makes it stand out unnecessarily. IMO.

I do normally like the silver finish, but the SBC that the RPF-1's come in looks really nice! I'm very tempted to get them. The NT0-3's look a little better, but they're not nearly as light. 19.90lbs vs 17.55lbs

The new Mach V wheels supposedly weigh 19lbs. But they look just like the ones I have now. I'd put their looks about equal wight RPF-1's. I think they're both "OK" but not great.

I used duplicolor metal cast paint from autozone and automotive clear coat. No sanding the clear coat came out amazingly clean cause I sprayed it in our spray booth at work

Haha ya I was really nervous to try it. I practiced on some old headlights first. Worst case you can take it off with thinner. Honestly though you can't even tell they are painted!

I wouldn't bother with overlays honestly. I sanded with 800 grit sand paper, masked the reverse signal. 1 light coat to allow adhesion, 1 little heavier coat, then 2 more simi heavy coats. So 4 total. Then I unmasked the reverse section and did 2 coats of clear to get rid of the line.

I did the same but I was told by many that the VHT Nightshades in red would last longer and be a bit deeper red that the metalcast paint. I sprayed I think 3 light coats of the red, let it dry good then unmasked the clear part and sprayed 3 coats of clear over the entire light. Came out great.... way better than my failed overlay attempt

Oh, and i did one more thing to mine, after I had the red sprayed and all done, I sprayed the grey plastic light housing with plastidip so when you open the hatch you dont see the ugly grey plastic. That just looked cheap to me. Gives it that extra little touch
