Default No Spark & No Indication that Fuel is Moving '93 Subaru Impreza 1.8L FWD

'93 Subaru Impreza 1.8L FWD Hatchback: Overall Problem: Engine Won't Start When Cranked. The car was parked for about a week without being driven. The last time I drove the car the engine was running fine, and when I come back to it... that is what I find.

Battery Is New with perfect output, starter cranks the engine perfectly. There is gas in the gas tank.

NO CEL indicator activated in the dash.

Initial Assessment: Could not hear fuel pump or fuel pump relay work when staging the key to the 'before crank' position.

- I removed the fuel hose on fuel rail leading into the engine, and enguaged the crank with no fuel movement.
- Checked Fuses with a Multimeter = All Fuses OK
- Replaced Fuel Pump
- Replaced Fuel Pump Relay (curiously, the old fuel pump relay had wetness... maybe condensation around its housing and a bit of corrosion.)

Problem Persists!

Secondary Assessment: No spark!

Starter Fluid Test: The Engine Popped once maybe twice with starter fluid, and that was after SEVERAL tests.
Spark test = No spark on any of the 4 plugs.

All of this leads me to believe there is an electrical problem.

Does anyone have any idea how to troubleshoot this? I am wondering if my ECU is bad. If not what could it be? Any guesses?

We all know how important transportation is, so I won't harp on how imperative it is for me to get wheels back on the road.

Instead, I will thank each and everyone of you who takes this into consideration. Thank you for your time and interest. Anything helps. Ask if you need any more information. And I will warn up front that my technical skills for this subject, however growing, are limited.

Thanks again!

On a side note, I've seen some individuals with some parts for the same model. I might be able to throw you some business if you have the part I need. Just putting that out there.

I'm always willing to make a wild guess!

I Googled a bit and saw some stuff about crank angle sensors and cam sensors being related to fuel and spark delivery. I've no experience with these sensors, but maybe you could search some more and find out how to check them.

Here is a thread talking about their location: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/...ad.php?t=98733
