Member's Ride Dictionary???

Hey I'm on this other forum and they have a members ride dictionary where they have a list of all their members and if you click on a member it has a page of all the mods done and pictures of the car. Just wondering if its something we could do with akic?

i was thinking of making a thread with rules called the Alaska Subaru Showcase where discusion posts would not be allowed and member could reserve a post to put pictures and modlists only.

That's freakin' hawt.

We need something like this and have it stickied and locked, but with access to update.

I would love to hear objections.

I love data entry work, so if the mods okay this then I wouldn't mind helping out. It would be fun. All we'd need is for the members to post or PM their threads, then just hyperlink their names with the threads.

Actually, that brings up a good point:

What about multiple build threads? If each member only gets one thread to link their name to then I guess they need a main thread and would have to link to their other build threads on their original post... It can be done.

With Granny's idea we would ALL ( or whoever wanted to participate ) have a build thread.
And then we could just have a sticky linking to each thread.

I wouldn't mind helping with this project either, I'm decently good with HTML and web coding, plus I'd think it would be fun to get a little more infor from each member as well, maybe do an intro interview with each member that wanted. Go MORE in depth than just the car.

It would just be for akicers not for all nasiocers and not just for pictures. It would be like an article that features your car. Something with a mod list, pictures, and maybe even a short story behind your car. If you don't want your car in it then don't. Anyways it was just a suggestion.

I'm not being a punk when I point out that the national forum has a Member's Gallery that's filled with "build threads". Do we need an AKIC 2.5L thread? An AKIC 2.0L thread? An AKIC Built Motor Discussion? We're lucky enough to be allowed the OT thread, most regions/chapters don't even get that.

Why dont we have a FB page or something of the sort. Wouldnt that make mounds more sense. These forums are so old skoo, makes things like galleries hard to pull just because of coding, hosting and such. In that case youd get member BIOs as well as ride info. Im about as anti FB as the typical troll but it would be alot easier to host and view with an AKIC FB thing.
