Default GenV Viper

Quote:
Here's the first teaser image of the newly de-Dodged 2013 SRT Viper — posted moments ago on the DriveSRT Facebook Page ahead of its expected debut sometime in the next couple of months.
The shadowy serpent that is beginning to emerge from the teaser shot has a distinctly Italian look to it, don't ya think? Anyway, all we know now is that "the next generation Viper will make its return to the product lineup in late 2012 as a 2013 model," according to SRT Brand & Motorsports President/CEO Ralph Gilles in a press release last month.

Also, that from now on, the Dodge brand will also no longer play host to the Viper. Instead the supercar will just be called the SRT Viper.

I'm not sure I can agree with "distinctly Italian look" based on that image...

"Distinctly Italian look" not found......at all really. As noted above, the image seems to look like the original Viper.

Sure do love the idea of the Viper being manufacturered but gotta wonder how a gas guzzler like the Viper will make it in the future as the tighter and tighter CAFE mileage standards kick in.

I wonder how huge of an engine it will have this time around, especially with fuel efficiency being a target of a lot of auto companies, even with their more performance-oriented offerings.

Unless dodge is planning to sell millions of vipers it won't really matter what the fuel economy is. Now that they are together with Fiat even more so. The fiat 500 can average a viper out

I cannot wait to buy another one. Tied with Murcielago as best vehicle I've ever owned.

I netted better mpg in my Viper than I did with any of my STi's. I'm willing to bet that the new Viper will net somewhere between 25-28mpg highway.

Since Viper was kicked to the SRT brand, Chrysler might be using that brand to have to pony up $$ for a failure to meet the CAFE standards vs. having each vehicle pull down numbers for its perspective brand.
