Default 2013 Audi RS4 with 450 hp to Bow at 2012 Geneva Motor Show

Alongside the RS4 Avant, Geneva will witness world premieres of the A1 Quattro (powered by a 250 horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged FSI motor), the Audi A3 (with four engine options, a 1.4 TFSI, two 1.8 turbo motors, plus a 2.0-liter turbo diesel) and the third generation A6 All-Road, which, powered by a 3.0-liter TFSI V6, is said to deliver improvements in fuel economy of up to 20 percent . The highly anticipated TT RS will also make its global debut at the Swiss motoring expo, powered by the 2.5-liter, five-cylinder TFSI motor, reportedly delivering around 360 hp.

Although the TT RS is heading stateside, as is the RS5 (which shares its driveline with the 2013 RS4 and makes its Swiss premiere at the show); with the B8 RS4 being offered as an Avant only, itíll be interesting to see just what Audiís strategy is for this model, especially as it relates to North America.

So far we know it will be offered to customers around the world, though thereís no word yet on when or if it will come to the US. Given that many European brands seem less than enthusiastic about sending their wagon offerings stateside these days, weíll be watching closely with this one.

Wait, a NA V8? Surprised they're not doing the FI route like BMW, or like what they've done with the S4. The wagon would be nice. RS4 = $$$$$$

^This. Really surprised actually. Maybe they are really trying hard to separate themselves from the crowd, now that everyone is going forced induction of some kind.

and watch it get stuck at the port dock because it won't pass or meet some U.S. emission metric

Unless it's coupled with a lighter chassis, what are they delivering besides more of the same?

The B7 RS4 is one of my favorite sedans of all time FWIW. I let one slip away a few years ago before I could sell my car in time- Misano Red w/Silver, sunroof delete and titanium package. Still kicking myself...

No way will they bring the RS4 wagon here although isn't it odd that it's the only body style available? It's direct competitors offer sedan, coupe and BMW offers a vert as well.

Audi is pulling a "Subaru" and not offering any more sporty wagons in the U.S. after the 2012 model year. The only wagon available will be the A4 Allroad. At least Subaru is still offering a hatchback though, just nothing larger than the Impreza / WRX.

Though I love wagons, having a NA more when so many other competitors (including yourself) are going FI, is disappointing. The current S4, which I've grown to really like, with an off the shelf tune and pulley kit is making around 400hp. The next M3 will have about the same HP stock, but because it's going to be turbo charge, an inexpensive tune will embarrass the Audi. On the otherhand, 450hp from a NA 4.2 V8 is an impressive feat.

The 450hp 4.2 is already in the RS5 coupe. The 2013 RS4 Avant is basically the new facelift wagon, built to current RS5 specifications.

I kinda wish there were an S-line version of the R8 4.2 with 5.2/GT appearance cues, and the 450hp tune (stock is ~420 on the R8 4.2), and the S-Tronic DSG gearbox re-arranged to send a driveshaft forward to the front axle, while mounted behind a mid-engine.

Although perhaps a supercharged version of the V8 would be even more potent than a 30hp tuning jump.
