Default 07 Impreza (non-turbo); how many miles from original spark plugs?

So, the manual says to change at 30,000, but how many are they good for? Putting off the service for now, but I don't want any problems. Car has 45,000 miles on it but runs awesome and gas mileage is fine.

Gas mileage and how the car runs overall is not the only issue. Although the manual intervals are a good guideline, you could use those guidelines to do inspections of things like the spark plugs. Take them out and check the condition. One important factor for the spark plug change, as with any aluminum headed engine, is that the longer you keep the plugs in, the greater the chance you have for pulling the threads right out of the head when you take the plugs out. Not saying it will happen for sure after X amount of miles, just food for thought.

My Legacy 2.5i has platinum plugs and even though the manual says 30k, I sure didn't change them at 30k.

Do you know if the 2007 Imprezas come with platinum plugs?

Cool, thanks. So, aside from the possible issue of the plugs getting stuck in the head after many years, they really don't need replacing for quite a long time?
