I'm sorry to say but that amount of fiberglass filler will crack, regardless of how thin your application is. I've been speaking with several fabricators down south that suggest the usage of a metal based bodyfiller. Also, in every application I've seen thus far the application of filler has been very minimal on weldments only. Most shaved bay guys try to avoid flat panels since they tend to lose their grip and flake.

This build is amazing! Gives me motivation to get mine finished! I'm building a 2nd gen leggy as well.

Any chance of another update? Would love to see what progress has been made

Thank you. I'm glad it motivates you. Sorry I stopped updating. I made my build thread for just that but I started to get more negative comments back so I stopped posting. I'll update it again for you. If you have any questions feel free to pm me. Not knowing anyone who did this before I had to do things the hard way so hopefully guys like you wont need to.

Bought a new STi short block and pulled the pistons out.

I also stripped down the 251 SOHC heads I'm going to build.

Ceramic coated headers to match the crossover pipe. I'll have the up-pipe done too when it comes in.

Time for TGVs and intake manifold.

Removed TGV motor, flap, and rod.

Cut out the divider wall and ported it out.

Polished for a nice smooth surface.

Welded the holes and sand blasted to make a little turbulence for better fuel atomization.

Made plates to clean up where the motor went.

Painted the TGVs and intake manifold wrinkle red.

Finished.

Looking good.

My question is what's the end game plan for the car? As in you planning on AutoX or?

I just killed almost an hour by starting at page one. This is one of the coolest builds I've seen and your attention to detail is amazing!

Thanks. It's gonna be built for mainly auto-X. I would like to pick up another car to dd to keep miles off.

Worked on finishing my intake manifold. I am flipping my intake manifold so it required some modification to get the fuel rails to fit. (Sorry no pictures)

I installed my Injector Dynamics 1000cc injectors.

Fuel rails all put together.

Sand blasted and installed the throttle body.

Awesome progress. I'm glad you posted some updates. Please don't let the haters and nit-pickers ruin it for the rest of us that appreciate your efforts. Keep up the great work! I still hope to see granny in person some day.

Timing belt on and relashed the valves.
