Question Anyone have a PDE Uppipe review??

Hi,

I'm very satisfied w/ the build and performance of my PDE downpipe and now am looking for an up-pipe solution. Just to give some background information, I have an autometer EGT gauge and egt probe that I'll be using. That said, I want to get a PDE up-pipe w/ an extra bung for my autometer EGT probe. I tried to do a search for reviews, but couldn't find much. Anyways, who has this up-pipe and what are your feelings about it?? Will I encounter any problems? Thanks in advance.

Paul

Thumbs up

I've had a PDE up-pipe for about 2,000 miles and no problems. Nice welds and I thought the heat coating was a nice feature. I did the install myself with some friends. It took us a while because we're all novices but so far so good. I followed the Perrin instructions for most of the install, (see scoobymods.com), becuse the well documentation and pictures, though I used the PDE instructions for the tightening sequence to ensure no leaks.

Do you NEED to use new gaskets and is there an increase in noise?

yes and not really.

new gaskets for the uppipe is a REALLY nice bit of insurance. you do NOT want to take that all apart again.

put the egt in last after it's all in there. sooo much easier to NOT pull the wires out of the sensor on accident.
