anyway, the interview was short, and simple (maybe 5 minutes including the time i was on hold). the bonus of having unbeknownst to me, bought from an actual costco linked dealership, i got an addition $50 gift voucher to use on service or accessories at my dealer.

the rep said i should expect my $500 card in 2-3 weeks.

pretty sweet!
the card arrived this weekend! very happy.

Hello everyone,

After reading passively your comments for a couple of months, I finally got an account because I'm about to order an Impreza. This will be my configuration:

Subaru Impreza Sport Limited
Navigation and sunroof package

I got quoted $24,506 from one dealer in CT (this includes includes a $770 transportation an handling and it is before TTL) but I'm going to another dealer in NY tomorrow to see if they can beat this price. I'm also inclined to get a roof spoiler which will increase the bill by $329.00

I don't think new orders can be made for the 2012 since the end of April. Might have to wait for the 2013s, which probably won't change much.

Sport Limited, no options (well, all-weathermats, cargo tray, seat back protectors, silly blue oil cap and battery hold down...underhood bling, but that stuff was covered by SOA 250 dollar voucher)=22,250, plus TTL and the force-fed GAP and extended warranty (couple grand more). It's the final price paid at the end that really matters, though. High financing can ring up low purchase prices, and it can also have such low rates that higher initial prices pay less by the end.

Options: Roof spoiler, Body Side Molding, Auto-Dimming Mirror w/ Compass

Trade in: $2500

Think it was a fair deal for both me and dealer. Hope so, anyways.

When I looked online in the research phase, I read on one of those car review sites that low average on the Sports without accessories was above 23,000. I think you did good.

I think that's an awesome price. All those add-ons are a few grand. For about the same all I get is warranty extension and fluff. Jealous. But not too much.

The dealer did not tell me anything about 2013. Waiting time for me was 8 to 12 weeks.

Crazy....anything over 19k seems excessive in my mind. We got the 2007 Base 2.5 4 door for 17k+ and it has more HP. I miss not having that hatchback, but should that really be MORE???

Anyways.... I remember the WRX was around 24k at our dealership while the STI was a ridiculous 32k.

These are apples to oranges comparisons. Your 2007 has more HP, but doesn't get as good gas mileage. The WRX is much faster than the base Imprezas, and the STI is much much faster than the base model and has more bells and whistles that are useful for racing. The base model, not so much.

I can go in reverse much faster in my STI than I can going forward in my '12 Impreza 2.0i!

2012 Impreza Sport Premium, 5MT

Qualified for Subaru VIP pricing through my employer, which came out to $20,469. No haggling required. Also managed to snag 7yr/75k preferred bumper to bumper,GAP, and engine immobilizer security system for a little extra, so OTD was $21,524+TTL.

Auto Dimming/Compass Mirror w/ Homelink
All Weather mats
Popular Package #1

2 yr/24k mile free maintenance
And the ultimate kicker: 2 free set of 4 tire replacements up to $250/tire at 25k and 50k miles.

All @ 1.9%

I'm pretty content.
