I'm on CORN YO!

Default In case you didn't know....

I have been out of my house since December 2nd because of the wind storm we had.

We moved back in Saturday Been living in a hotel since

Long story I have infloor heating and the power line that fell on my house grounded through the pipes and burned holes all over in my floor. They replaced all flooring onmain level, which was tile. I only put 300'sq sback in tile and did the rest in bamboo. Had to repaint the whole house, doors, walls everything. Even the baseboard had to be replaced. My wife and I did all the work except the tile (her brother is a contractor/tile guy)

SN:A forced remodel happened because a tree and a power pole landed on my house and I finally get to sleep in my own bed again.

Thanks man. we were in bed when it happened. If I were taking a shower or something I would be dead I am sure. The main power lines coming into our house were completely burned. I am sure Randi took pictures of the before. I just stole these from her facebook

I am moving the destruction upstairs. Replace baseboards and carpet. If you can tell I tore the carpet off the bottom 2 stairs because of the flooring. I should be done in about another month on the slow roll I am thinking. Since we moved in we have completely remodelled the entire hours and yard. If you remember my thread about tearing hte garage down and doing the yard.

Yes James when I am all done I would do a movie night/xbox bbq for sure. early spring sounds good to me.

Sorry to hear what happend Jason. Sounds like a freak accident. Glad no one was hurt. The finished product looks amazing! Did you stick with the in-floor heating?

My neighbor across the street had his house catch fire a week before Christmas. No one was home when it happend, except the family dog, which didn't make it out. He told me that he had left a candle burning. Only the bottom floor was burned and the second floor had only smoke damage. They are still working on getting it back together.

I didn't know you were doing the work, I just assumed you were getting it done because of how bad the damage was. You should have called me to come help. It looks really good. Now we know that if the rocket business struggles you can make it as a flamboyant home designer/remodeler.

Yesterday was my first day back in the gym and pool since it happened. I was going to spin at 5 am but that plus work plus work on the house started to mess me up. Eating out every meal really sucks when you are trying to live on a strict died. Today's lunch is my back on my diet. I will make another look how sexy I am thread in a month or so.

no the steroids didn't run out

The insurance wanted to buy us a furnace but I told them noooo. They fixed what I all ready had. 3k furnace does not = 20k in floor heating. Besides since I have in floor heating all my duct work for the AC in in the ceiling which would be the worst way to try heat a house. Wakin gup to 70* tile is awesome in the winter

Meh, Randi helped and the neighbors (the people whos tree fell on the power lines and the both landed on our house) felt guilty I think and came over to help quite a few nights.

Getting my education was suppose to prevent me from having to build houses.... At least that's what I thought.
