Default top scoob locals only graveyard

***Updated to include 5 pictures, per the new rules***

My 2005 WRX Wagon met it's untimely demise in December 2008 and I was lucky enough to score a great deal on a new 2008 WRX STI. I planned to leave it stock, but that didn't last very long. I've been slowly modding it over the past 3 years, doing the majority of work either myself or with the help of fellow MAICers. For me, half the fun is the wrenching, but when I've gotten stuck or overwhelmed Mach V has always been there to help me out and finish the job.

I've gone through various sets of wheels (5), exhausts, intakes, and seats. But I'm kinda picky and I usually end up with something close to stock. It's my daily driver so I've tried to create something that I can live with 7 days a week, but will also do well at my local autocross events.

Here's the mod list (with links to my Member's Gallery Thread):

- Kartboy rear end links | Post #195
- Whiteline front lower chassis brace (KSB723) | Post # 326

I'd enter but my wheels are made by OEM. Stock wheels never win anything.

Ferg, will the voting round be posted in MAIC only (kind of drawing mostly MAIC votes), or will it be posted elsewhere for all of NASIOC to vote on?

I bought my 2008 STI as one of the first off the boat. It was that or an Evo, and the Evos weren't out yet at the time. I'm glad I got the STI -- I'd been missing my 2005 Legacy GT.

My idea in modifying the car was to build something fast and fun, but practical for real-world use. I have to commute in my car, haul kids and their gear, and drive over real-world speed bumps and driveway aprons. On the other hand, this car needed to showcase some of the good stuff our shop can install. Finally, I wanted it to look clean -- I like my cars to be fairly simple and neat, with not too many parts hanging off.

350 awhp, 356 lb-ft.

^^^Agreed. I don't have the cash to compete. Is there going to be an "almost stock" poll?

I think I'll take some pics and toss them in the mix anyway.

I'll give it a shot....why not My name is Rich, I bought the car used for Christmas 2009 (the best present any body could buy themselves). It was stock when I bought it. I had 04 WRX before the STi that was coming along nicely before ended up meeting a tree. The car is not slammed but is what I call a "Meatty Stance"....I've always been a fan of Wrong Fitment/Stance and decided to try it slightly different.

I have a feeling this will be the only 4eat entry. As some backstory, this is my daily driver, been through a lot with this car, drove it to work everyday when I lived in buffalo, been through three motors, a couple transmissions and replaced out more parts than I could remember.

Started out as a stock 2005 wrx 2.0 4eat, and over the years the goal for the car would constantly change, finally found what I liked the most was taking it to a track/road course. But that meant cooling became an issue for everything. To start, found the 4eat would overheat after a few laps, so I put two mocal coolers. Found the brakes would fade, so used better pads DTC 60. Then the coolant temps were getting pretty high, so now the vmount. (although I haven't had a chance to test out the vmount).

So the question, I'm sure most are asking it why a 4eat, why not a manual swap? Maybe I'm lazy, or maybe I'm just sentimental, but that how the car started and that's probably how it will end up until I junk it. But I will say, while waiting through traffic on Rockville Pike, a 4eat is damn convenient. 6+years of modding, and a 137K on the chassis now.

Decided to join for fun.

Used to own an 87 GL Wagon. Loved it and ran it into the ground off roading in North Dakota. Traded in for the 99 OBS.

Used to own a 99 OBS. Drove her hard for her entire life. Finally died in Virginia during a bad rainstorm and ended up hydrolocking her. Quickly puled the plugs, but she wouldn't turn over.

Ended up with the car I've wanted for a long while, an 2004 STi. I haven't done much besides drive her a lot. Most of my money has been going into maintenance for this vehicle. Oil changes, trans + diff changes, plugs, fixing oil leaks, fixing radiator leaks, upcoming 105K mile maintenance. Got her over 2 years ago at 68K and she currently has 100K.

Altogether, I love this car. She can be a pita, but she usually gets me where I need to be (in a hurry) and she is fun to drive.

This car started off as just a birthday present to myself. I actually spent the night of my 21st birthday sitting outside with a flashlight debadging the trunk. It was my daily driver for about 4 years or so until I got the miata. After owning a mustang, gt eclipse, 3000gt (as well as other non-sports cars) it was the first car I had that I actually started taking seriously and heavily modding, I love it to death. Even through all the VERY hard times of motor swaps and other mechanical troubles, I never wished I didn't have it. Paying the bills sucked when they came, but once I turned the key and drove away I was smiling again. I have a pretty good feeling there will always be a Subaru of some sort in my garage for as long as I live
