Default 1992 Jdm Wrx Questions

I just got a 1992 JDM WRX and I have a few questions. First what should the stock boost be? How much boost is safe? I'm not trying to raise it but i want to see what it is running now to know if the prior owner was over boosting or anything. All I know is that there is an apex intake thing with a k&n filter on it, I was told it has 300hp but I don't know from what. it also has an hks nov on it. I have 2 vacuum lines coming off the front left when standing at the front, they are both plugged with screws. My guess is they went to the stock air box or something but i have no idea. Thanks in advance.

1992 runs 0.7-0.8 bar boost stock (9-12 psi) max safe boost is 1 bar or 14 psi. Other than that do as eg33GC says

Sounds like a plan, It already has a turbo back so i got that one covered and I was already reading a little about robs tune. My engine code is EJ20GDW1HE so this car has a 9-1 compression ratio right? What gas should I run and what gas should I run with Robs tune? Also what plugs are good to run in this car? Lastly does anyone have any idea about the boost lines in my first post?

No. It has a 8.5 compression ratio. The 9.0 compression ratio for EJ20G wagons and automatics came in 1996 for the MY97-98 cars. Plugs (NGK PFR-6B) are the best for stock cars once you turn up the boost run NGK PFR-7B. If you don't mind changing plugs more often you can also run the non-platinum verions but stick to NGK and the heat range.

This is not my car but what are those 2 vacuum lines running out on the lower left of the picture? On my car these 2 are plugged.

The bigger of the two runs from the fuel tank evap line to the charcoal canister near the radiator on the right side of the vehicle. The smaller one runs from the charcoal canister to the purge solenoid valve.

If you have the Charcoal evap canister it doesnt hurt to hook it up. I've been told in some states it is required for emissions. Off of the top of my head I do not remember if there is a CEL code in the 92 WRX ecu for the evap system. But on USDM WRX models there is. If you do a search on deleting the charcoal canister you may find it educational.
