Default protune questions

i was wondering what, on average, a protune ran. i was going to buy an accesport and run OTS maps until i mod my car more and upgrading to stage 2.
also, does anybody have serious issues with ots maps?

Expect a full protune to run you around $500.

OTS maps have sorta been my fallback while learning how to datalog and tune my 07. I have noticed the same issue that JohnJW referred to below, along with some excessively rich AFR's in the 4400+ rpm range at WOT. The OTS maps were an excellent starting point for me though. If you want to learn how to tune the car yourself, the AP with ATR software is a great way to get into it. If you have no plans to ever tune the car yourself, it's kinda a waste of money and you should just go straight to a tuner.

Are you referring to the initial high spike when first getting into the throttle?
If so, Download the AccessTUNER Race software and I can show you how to fix it.

What are you adjusting in ATR to get rid of that initial boost spike?

The wastegate duty tables. Cobb put a HUGE spike in the 2400RPM column, which causes boost spike when you first get on it at low RPM's

Yeah this was weird when I decided to try the cobb map for a week. The Perrin map I was running before that was way smoother when taking off. Had to go back to it. I was quoted $300 for a basic stge 2 tune from Cobb. Probably depends on the mods you have so you just need to call your local shops and ask.

I went into my Wastegate Duty Cycle (high) and changed the value for 2400RPM/95.2Throttle position to 65, then highlighted all cells from 47.6% TP at 2400 rpm up, and used horizontal interpolation.

I then did the same thing in the Wastegate Duty Cycle (low) table and used 58 in the 95.2 column.

Doing this completely eliminated my initial boost onset spike

Yeah, I did not get spike until colder temps came around so I just reduced it off the IAT comp table.

Another way to get rid of that spike is through TD integral positive, or negative. Thats the comp table that tells it what percentage to increase or decrease WG duty cycle by it is not reaching or overshooting its target. I would start with the positive side of the table because it can cause it to overspool and over shoot the target and then that is where the negative table kicks in. I would only do it though it your getting that spike through out the RPM range.
