Default Need a little help...please!!!

I just bought an 02 wrx with basically an 04 sti swap. It has a map on it with a v1(I think) AP. I can't get the ap to the main menu stage. The main screen comes on and then automatically goes to the screen that states "please choose a new map to flash to ecu" if I hit cancel, it goes back to the first screen and then the second screen and if I hit ok it goes to a list of maps. The car runs fine and I want to get to the main menu so I can check the CEL and clear it so I can get it inspected... any ideas? Please help!!!! The AP is the grey rectangle with the green screen and black letters...

The V1 AccessPORT does have a green screen, so most likely that is what you have. It sounds like your V1 might have a stuck button which is causing it to automatically go to the next screen and not stay on the main menu. Unfortunately, we can not repair the V1 anymore. Also, the clear code function on the AP only clears codes temporarily, and they will reappear if the same issue on the car persists.

We do have a V1 Trade In Program though and you would get a $200 credit towards a new V2. If you know who originally tuned the car, they might be able to convert your current map to a V2 map. Otherwise, you will need a custom tune for the set up on your car.

Thanks Ian, I also spoke to a car at Cobb, they said its possible that the ap may not be installed, is that possible? I spoke with the seller and he said its possible the battery was disconnected, could that "uninstall" the ap? Thanks again!!!

A disconnected battery will not uninstall the AccessPORT, only revert it back to the Reflash (base) map. The only way to uninstall the AccessPORT is to use the Revert to stock or Uninstall menu option.

Should I try and install it again? Or try the revert to stock, or nothing ... is it possible to fix the CEL without the ap? I know autozone and stuff does that, but depending on what is causing the CEL, could it be something that I need the ap for? Like running too lean, etc....

You will probably be able to read the code and clear it for a short amount of time using a code reader. But depending on what the code is actually for, it may come back quickly, or it might stay off.
