Default N/A Accessports different???

I was just wondering this because i was told that I could not use an 07 2.5i manual accessport for an 07 OBS manual. I could of sworn that the only differences between the two were some wheels, a paint job, and some more rubber bushings. Is it true that the computers are different? If so how and why?

The SUB-004 AccessPORT is specific for the 2.5RS and 2.5i and will most likely not work on your 2007 OBS. Sorry!

I can understand there being a tag in the program so it cant be installed in multiple cars. But what i cant understand is after its dismounted from a same year car with the same pcm and driveline why cant it be mounted to another. what are the differences? The 07 obs is basically a 2.5i.

The ECUs have different ROMs, or ECU identities. Because the OBS and the 2.5i have different ROM versions, the AccessPORT can not be used interchangeably.
