Default 2013 STi keys

So my 2013 STi was a repo and thus only came with one key/remote. Apparently the stealership get $299 per. No thanks!! So there are 08-10 key blanks on ebay for $10, are these the same as 11-14? Is the dealership the only one who can program keys?

My '09 came with little metal tags with a number on them that is required to program new keys. If you don't have that the dealer is probably charging you for a whole new setup.

I don't know how different the newer keys are. but I had a key and keyless entry remote programmed at a dealer when I bought my 05 lgt. the key was bought on ebay and the dealer charged me around $20-30 to program both. the dealer local to me wanted to charge way more and gave me a lot of **** because I didn't buy the key from them. so I drove a little farther and went to another dealer.. so if you don't like what the dealer is telling you, try another dealer and see if they tell you the same or not
