Wanna put together a summer ride down to homer this summer. It would be great for all those subie drivers that love to fish as well. The scenery is amazing on a good day and I am a professional photographer and would make great photo opportunities for us subie enthusiast.

I definitely plan on getting a suite if we end up going. I have quite a bit of family up there as well so this trip would be made regardless. Planning would be key as well as people who are DEFINITELY going to go as a deposit would most likely have to be made for a suite or two plus fishing charters. If all would be up for it..

My dad has a 35 footer in the harbor that I'll be staying at. I thought it would be a fun thing to do with a bunch of subies. We should plan for the first saturday if May.

I'm interested, if I can make the time to drive all the way down there for it.

What would be fun is going from Fairbanks to Homer. At least from my end, it would be a gorgeous drive.

Yeah I've done that the past few years for halibut fishing with my father in law, and back, in the same day...
Not with my car though . |

I'd be down schedule-depending. Two big thumbs up for Fat Olives, Ring of Fire Meadery and Halibut Cove if the weather permits.

I seem to make it down to Homer at least twice a year, but only once ever in the summer (early August).
I plan on going up to Fairbanks in a couple of weeks, so Homer would be nice. Eventually Valdez, too, and I'll be happy. Maybe you guys could teach me how to fish, too. ![]() |

I'm at interested to see what come of this Homer road trip idea. I would love to join the subie caravan down there. It would be a lot of fun.
For Kelly and I to participate, it would have to be during a long holiday weekend or later in the summer like late July or August to be able to have vacation days saved up again. She's using up all her vacation days in early June with me for 2 weeks. |

Well let's plan a trip for sometime in July. It seems to be the best time to go. Maybe a 4th of July get together.
