I dont understand why most people dont take the time to remove all the wiring and ect. or tape off some areas. Ive painted many many subaru intake manifolds and in the end they still look factory machined and painted. All but the paint color..... Ill get some pics up sometime of them. Is it just me being a perfectionist??

I also agree with the VHT issue, The red they use to sell was SPOT on with STi wrinkle but now turns out Orange/light red at best. Very dissapointed with the new color. I even ordered some from another place on line thinking it was a bad batch but it also turned out to be the same orangeish red color.

i was lazy when i did that. i didn't think it would get overspray. mine came out bright red. those are cell phone pics. that's why the color looks off.

I think it needs a coating. not the same color as your car, but something to tie it in.

go for it! a proper powder job and clear is so easy to clean - just wipe all off with a wet rag. no hassle at all.

if you're serious about getting yours done, shoot me a PM and i'll be glad to hook you up with my very affordable and skilled powdercoater - he's done hundreds.

lol I did, post 31. My buddy has a coating business so I have fun changing things up every year. Its a burnt orange. I had the florescent orange sample and this color in both hands. As you can see I chickened out lol.
