Default yellow tops in older fuel rails?

I have always been told that sti yellow side feeds are a bolt in matter with the stock side feed rails on my 97 ej25d engine with the red top injectors.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Yep, I'm running that exact setup as we speak. Works fine as long as you can compensate for the extra fuel.

Note that there are three types of yellow side feed injectors:

1) The USDM EJ257 STI which are 550cc and fit in the EJ25D fuel rails with red side feed injectors.
2) The JDM/EUDM 1999-2000 EJ205/207 side feeds which are ca. 440cc and also fit those rails.
3) The JDM 1997-1998 EJ20K and EJ20R yellow side feeds which are 480cc and are a direct replacement for grey top side feeds.

Yep they fit right in with no hassle. I have yellow side feeds from an EJ257 in EJ25D rails on my EJ20G.

Only EJ25D rails, not EJ22E rails. The injectors fit but the EJ22E rail doesn't bolt to the EJ20G intake manifold.
