Audi rear looks horrible. I hate sloping roof lines. Just like the Lexus RX it looks ugly. The Cayenne definitely looks better.

I'm wondering just how much smaller this thing is compared to the Cayenne. I mean, Cayenne is barely a midsizer. Unless the Macan is as small as the current Tiguan, which is really just a raised Golf, there will be very little difference in size between the two SUVs.

Maybe that's why they sloped the roof so much, to artificially reduce cargo volume and give room for the Cayenne. In any case, I really want to bash this thing but I suspect my wife would like it, so I'll keep it to myself.

Terrible. Look, it's an Infiniti SUV and a Porsche SUV from 10 years ago! Epic concept and feat! Way to plug that hole!

I'm glad to see NASCAR lighting technology trickling down to Porsche.

It is sad to see a legendary sports car brand like Porsche continue to dilute themselves. The Panamera and Cayenne already account for 2/3 of sales. After this is released, 911/Boxter/Caymen sales will likely only account for 20%. Porsche is just another luxury car maker now, nothing more.

Without the Cayenne and Panamera, Porsche wouldn't be around.

So without platform sharing, VAG would just let Porsche dwindle and die? The most respected, revered, reliable, sporting brand Germany has ever produced? Huh. That sucks!

IMO, now that Porsche is part of VAG, they don't need the higher volume luxury cars. Isn't that what Audi is for?

Ferrari seems to be doing OK and they don't have an SUV... They are actually trying to become more exclusive.

It it about the same size/shape as the current Subaru WRX/STI 5-door. If Porsche wants to, they can make it a strong competitor to these in performance, with a more upscale interior.

What a worthless hatch shape. Talk about a lack of utility.

Are you saying Ferrari wouldn't be able to sell an SUV? They would fly off the lots.

Agreed. Might have been better if they just squared off the back end instead of the current slope. Look better (good chance anyways) and more usable space.

No. I'm saying Ferrari will rake-in at least as much profit by selling fewer cars. Why else would they do it?

Besides, a Ferrari SUV would not "fly off" dealer lots. Being much more exclusive, the Ferrari crowd is waaaaaaay more fickle than the Porsche crowd, and far more hung-up on the brand's racing heritage.

Ferrari will not produce a SUV for the sole reason that it doesn't fit their image. And at Ferrari, image is everything.
