Here are some pics from the area i was wanting to have a meet/cruise at. It is just outside my hometown of Wardensville WV. We would meet up in Wardensville which is 19 miles from the 2cnd Strasburg VA exit off of I-81. Then cruise up Corridor H which is a 4 lane divided highway like 81 only 10 times more scenic and beautiful. We would stop for awhile at the scenic overlook at Clifford Hollow bridge which is pictured in first pic. It is 300 feet above the ground and provides some nice views. There is a big parking lot beside it with johnny blues and a hiking path to the top to overlook the valley. From there we could take a back road into Moorefield and grab lunch followed by taking the old highway back which is full of up hill down hill sections and 10-20 mph turns. Here is a picture of the Clifford Hollow Bridge and one of the bridge over Lost River which is one of many bridges on the way that are on turns. You will really want your camera because there are plenty of great mountain views.

Let me know what you guys think and we could set this up for one Sunday

Dave

I will pick a date and run it by you and then post up a meet thread just for it and try to get some people from out of the area to come. It is a nice ride, very popular with bikes, you can see forever and lots of turns. Bridges on turns, and the twisty road home is a good time.

That's a nice drive for sure! Part of the fun of weekend trips to Seneca Rocks is the drive there.

Yeah Matt, it is really fun up around Seneca Rocks, Canaan Valley, Blackwater Falls area. Lots of fun turns if you don't get behind a tractor and trailer doing 10 mph. I have thought for a long time that are would be good for a cruise.

What would be a good weekend for you guys sometime in May or June?

Here is another pic that i found online, unfortunately i don't have pics of the area that i took. This is along old route 55 by Lost River it is called indian rocks. From the bridge in the pic that goes around the turn you are eye level with the rocks. Story around here is that the indians used to drive deer off of the rocks to the floor below. Plus there used to be some great fishing in that river. If people were interested we could stop at the lost river bridge and walk up to where it sinks. For those that don't know the area it is called Lost River because the river sinks at one point into a underground cavern and then resurfaces further down stream. During most of the year when you cross the old bridge there is water flowing strong on one side and drive river bed on the other. My uncle goes up to where it sinks and he has found a lot of old Geodes.

Thinking maybe Sunday May 13th or Sunday May 27th. I have a guy on wvsubarus that is thinking about coming up from Huntington to cruise. We could meet up after lunch that way no one misses church that morning. Then make an afternoon of it. If we had some that were willing to really get crazy i could show you guys some good dirt/gravel roads where you could play Pastrana or Mirra.

So just sent out a bunch of PM's to just about everyone who has replied to this thread. Telling them to check it out and give me some input on if this cruise would be something they would be interested in and do. If we get something rolling i will start another thread with date/time/place and all the info needed. I will also try to get some pics of route and map out some other roads.

There's a tread started for Mach v cruise. Front royal, winchester Mach v cruise. I believe that's the title. I want to go but I'll probably be working so I won't be able to make it

Although it's pretty dumb of me to post on this thread anyway, seeing as how it's for Sundays. But if anyone wants to set something one day after 5pm or on a Monday or Friday, that would be awesome!
