I'm goin to pick up a catless race pipe and replace the catted right now. I need to put the shifter bushings in but haven't gotten around to that yet. Plus I've read it can be a difficult install...

The rear shifter bushing is the one that is the bastard, you need a flex head 1/4" ratchet to get to it very easily.

Also you have to remove the 5 feet of useless heat shielding too.

Slammed!

Actually blown struts, I blew them on the way back from Summit Point after a day of Karting.

Thankfully I had my fenders rolled otherwise it would have been undriveable. I had to take the mudflaps off so they wouldn't drag the whole way home. The drive home wasn't too bad, the ride was bouncy as hell but only scraped the exhaust 2 or 3 times.

Surely there's room for another shocker sticker or two . . . .

And, really, please don't ever catch me saying that my favorite car mod is my trunk.

So based on those pictures does anyone else have any ideas what could be wrong? I called the shop today and based on my description of the issue they didn't seem to think it would be blown struts.

Aside from bounciness in the rear, the car drives fine, no noises or pulling. The wheels have some extra camber but they don't seem off aside from that.

The car is so low I can't get a good look under it, from what I could see the struts were still in their lower mounting point just fine and I could see that the tops were still in the same spot from where I can adjust them.

I'm not an expert but I figured if there was something more severe wrong with the suspension it would be more noticable or have different symptoms.

What caused this all was driving down hilly WVa roads returning from Summit Point, I didn't run over a curb or hit a pothole that would put enough stress on the suspension to cause damage.

Any thoughts?

what shop did you call? cuz i have no other explanation beside blown struts. if its bouncy that has all to do with your struts and springs

Ok so apparently the lower spring perch on the struts broke/came off.

I had made an appointment with the shop to look at it on wen, but if this is something that I could do myself (with your guys help of course) let me know and I'll bring a round of beers to the next install day.

Koni's have a circlip to hold the lower perch in place. I would guess you need a replacement circlip (Call koni). Once you have those it should just be a matter of taking the rear struts off the car taking the springs off and putting the circlip back in to hold the perch again and reassembing the strut/spring combo.

You may be able to compress the spring in place and put it all back together without removal but I don't know how much room you have to work in the wheelwell.

Depends on if the shock it self broke, or just the bolt. Hopefully its the latter.

I don't think the shock is broke but not certain. You free any evenings this week to come check it out?
