Default Swap Problems, need help(EJ20G)

There are a few issues i have with this. before I state my problems, I realize that i have probably made a mistake in getting into this too quickly with not enough information, but i'm just here to try and get some help in solving my problems, i've definitely been hit with a life lesson.

long story short, i hired a guy to swap my 2000 Impreza 2.5rs sedan's motor with an EJ20 turbo motor, he could never definitively tell me which engine it was, other than JDM, but from what i'm seeing, i'm pretty sure it is the EJ20G. i've done a decent amount of research in finding out how i can figure if it truely is an EJ20G, but being that i'm not as mechanically inclined as i'd like to be, I canít be certain. The videos of the engine bay that should give a better idea for someone who knows their stuff, but if there is an easy way for me to identify it so i'm getting the correct information i'd glady check.

Now to the bad parts...
The guy i hired was unable to finish the job to a suitable standard, so i've now got the car back with an array of problems, and i'm hoping that i can get some insight on how i can get the car back into perfect condition.

the car does run and drive, the Engine was swapped as well as the transmission and rear diff.
When the car is cold, it takes awhile to start. I have to crank it and feather the throttle for about 3-4 minutes for it to get going. Iím thinking this might have something to do with the poor idle, but Iím not sure. Here is the video of me starting it up, I didnít think about pulling out my phone and taking video for a couple minutes, so you come in about half way through.

One of the biggest problems is that none of the gauges are working in the car. all of the electrical seems to be in order except for the gauges. the lights work, and the clock works, but the gas gauge reads past empty which causes the gas light to come on, the temp gauge reads H redline, speedometer and tach just do not move. I'm at a loss for what could cause the gauges to not work since the rest of the cluster seems to be working ok.

The car is idling really funky, not only is it idling high, but it is surging up and down. the idle is very rough and doesnt seem to get better even when the car is warmed up. the video shows the rough idle in it. The guy was telling me that i needed to buy the JDM top mount because it currently has a USDM top mount on it, so i'm pretty sure he doesnt even have an Idle air control on it because he claimed it wouldnt fit. It almost looks like the USDM WRX throttle body(which has the IAC on top of it) would be a direct swap with this engine, but id like to know which is my best route, if that would even work.
This video is the car just sitting and idling and the engine is warm

This is a video of the idle and car driving shortly, the car is warm.

when i give the car some throttle i hear a tapping noise. The guy that did the work did not put on a full exhaust, so it is only the downpipe and uppipe. I think the sound is that hitting the subframe because there is very little clearance(looks like he tried to drimmel some of the subframe away to make more room). the piping seems to be hanging really low to the ground to the point it smacks the pavement if i hit a bump and the car bounces, which i really dont see why it would be that low. I have a catback i'm going to get installed and the exhaust shop will probably have to make some custom piping to connect it to the stock pipes, so i'm hoping they will be able to fix the exhaust as a whole, and that it wont shake anymore hitting the subframe, which Iím thinking may be the tapping noise.

that has a K top end, that is probably an entire K engine

you have no iacv. this is 90% your issue
your computer is pissed. You probably have no vss sensor either, and that is really pissing the ecu off.

you got screwed pretty hard.. is the guy on this site? pm a mod to move this to the pre 2002 turbo section, we can help collectively there

oh it is the K engine? well that definitely changes things.

I thought it was missing the IACV, which definitely makes sense. he said it doesnt fit in with that intercooler? i had not heard about the VSS yet though.

I'm sure he probably is on this forum but i'm not sure what his name is. i found him through the local forums(502streetscene.net, and the subaru forum Kysubaruclub.net). who is a moderator i could pm? i never really do much on nasioc aside from for sale ads, so i'm not sure who to talk to to get it moved, and i suppose change the title to EJ20K.

that intercooler is absolutely terrible regardless, but its bov location prevents the iacv from being used.

either go fmic or obtain a K sti ic.

wouldnt it be pretty difficult to find a k specific jdm tmic? would i be able to swap throttle bodies with the 02 usdm one that has the IACV on top of it?
