The absolute best thing you can do is read all the stickys in the Newbies. Also, I agree with 06rexwagon on getting a custom tune...and he happens to be one of the best at tuning.

Otherwise you are looking at needing a tactrix cable, laptop (or netbook) and romraider and ecuflash software. Get yourself a Cobb AP ($400-$450) used on the forums here. Easy to use. You'll need the SUB-003.

I don't have experience with either Cam or Clark but I know a few guys here in EP, myself included along with a lot of guys on 3gwrx.com that are tuned by Eric Minehart at Torquedperformance.com. $85 and you get maps for 8 different intake setups and all the online support and map tweaking needed.

Seriously consider getting tuned by Cam this week. He'll be here tomorrow evening thru this weekend. You'll notice a HUGE difference in the way your car feels dude. Don't buy any chips, a protune is better than any chip or off the shelf map you'll buy.

You don't need an accessport to get tuned. Cam can tune you with his laptop and Tactrix cable, I'll repeat: You don't need any hardware to get tuned by Cam! It is recommended you get gauges, but it's not necessary.

Good dude! I made a welding table about 3 weeks ago from scrap a friend gave me. It came out a lot better than I expected. I still have all of that aluminum so I think I'm going to make some type of mount/stand in front of the passenger seat in my car to secure my netbook while I drive. Just for tuning, not 24/7

How is your STi hunting going?

Nice, so no more melting the party table then? What shape were the aluminum pieces? "Ls" or "U"s?

Might be going up to Phoenix for an '06 there, or I'll have to go all the way out to Colorado Springs for one of the 5 or 6 out there. So damned far away though. Wish the 2 '07s here were better, one is a WTF setup, and the other won't drop there price from $27k for a 71kmi car.

Thumbs up on torqued, Eric is awesome talked through everything feed back immediately from the log i sent and only a few hours to process and send out a new map. Price is very reasonable and car is super happy.

Wassup EP! Newb to this forum and WRX. Just got my WRX Nov and already have 1500k miles on it! Loving every minute of it! Encountered the Subie Wave, warm vibe just like being back home (Guam). Looking forward to meets, my time will be short on Bliss. Moving soon to Belgium...
