Default Link controller or labtop?

If I get the controller that is the option on the link will it work out ok on tuning or should you really have the labtop?

I find it extremely useful when I was playing with my idle and clamp values.

There are times when lugging around a laptop is just too cumbersome. With the hand controller I simple pulled over to the side of the road, adjusted the zone and drove off again.

For tuning the laptop is definitely the way to do it. I don't know how they used to tune before the Pclink option.

Completely agree. For your intial and most time consuming tuning time (first 1-4 weeks on the road... or dyno if you want to pony up the cash) the laptop is THE WAY TO GO. Mainly becuase you can log and/or see which cell you are currently in while driving.

After you get a VERY good base map I think the hand held controller would be good for minor changes to say the idle fuel cell or certain values like idle fuel clamp and such... but yah I don't know how they use to tune before PCLink either .

Personally I don't think the handheld unit is worth the money for what little extra work it is to have the laptop in the car all the time.
