Question 3M Clear Bra pricing?

Hello all,

First off, I did search before posting, but nothing came up with this question directly. I am taking a couple thousand mile roadtrip and thought it best to protect my new baby as much as possible from road hazards. I am looking for the 3M clear bra to be installed and was quoted $575 as the "standard installation" for my model. Is this a reasonable price or should I shop around more?

The installer I got the quote from is the highest rated on google in the area (5 stars with 53 reviews), so I'm using an experienced shop. I don't want to go cheap and regret it, but I also don't want to get ripped off.

Thanks for any help!

Sounds about right to me. I paid $600 to have my bumper, half of each fender, and the front half of the hood covered.

Thats cheaper than what I paid. I had the mirrors, headlights, front clip, half of hood and a-pillars.

I had it on my SWP and it did turn a slight yellow haze. Its not as noticeable on darker colors. Took it off after a 1.5 yrs and did not reinstall it. Mine was the 3M brand.

I would have got a custom cut install instead of the normal cookie cutter route.

A friend that I know paid 475 for the 3M one installed at a shop in San Diego. He's happy with it but only had it for abt a year now. No yellowing yet.

Check around to see if you can find an installer that offers a warranty. Mine came with a lifetime warranty against peeling and discoloring.

I had a shopping cart hit my rex on the clear bra full speed and it scratched the piss out of it! I got it replaced for 170 with labor fees and tax in Reno Nevada at a company called Trimline. They did a very good job and put an even better (thicker) one on that before I'm very pleased. This one was for the hood only. I'm not sure about the entire front end. Hope this helps

as far as I know 3m sounds a little overpriced I think it's just because they are well known. Mine is not 3m and I can't even tell I have one on

I'm going to have to ask/call some of my local people. It seems like a good investment but tough when considering a bra or accessport :/
I know my TL over the year got some nice chips but that was mostly from all the construction they do around the Washington DC area. I don't get on the highway that often now but I know I will taking this car a lot of places I would have never thought to take the TL.

I got quoted for 1000$ at detailing dynamics...they use 3m and custom cut it..I was quoted for the front bumper, half hood, mirrors and front fender... I wa told they keep the car for 2 days and they do offer a warranty on their work...They did my friends brand new gtr and he said it saved his paint on 2 road trips already...exspensive but hey you get what you pay for I guess..

I highly recommend a clear bra. Its exp, but you get what you pay for. I had like 3 rock chips within the first month I owned it. I got a clear bra it has been a major life savor. I have still gotten one or two chips since (8 months) but small ones in areas the bra can't cover...I couldn't imagine what my car would look like without it... I did the full front bra with hood scoop, fender and mirrors, along with tint was about $1000 in NNJ. He did it it one day too!

With what they are asking anymore you might as well just get your bumper repainted.

Gz!!!! I better own this car for the next 10 years EASY with some of the prices you guys are quoting. I know 1500$ is way out of my range so I would have to find an alternative. On a benz yes. My subaru, I can not. I'll be looking for that 5-600 range.

I ordered mine from invisiblemask.com and installed it for myself. The front end kit for our car along with the mirrors cost me $230
