Does anybody else think that it would be nice to have a specs, part numbers's (spark plugs, oil filters, air filters, brake pads, etc.), whatever type of page? Ya know, just a validated (by moderators or specialist) listing of the most commonly asked questions, answers concerning parts, and part numbers, and prices...Rob "GQ"

It would be, if you could get anyone to look at it. The same questions get asked every day in the tech forums, when all people need to do is a two minute search to get their answer.

If we had some kind of well listed, easy to read chart it would be easy on everyone. I must admit, I am somewhat lazy about going through the forums to look for answers, and I know that some people are also sick of seeing the same old questions pop up. Maybe it will solve some of the problems.

I see nothing that will quickly allow a person to look up a part number for an aftermarket air filter, or whatever. Do you know what I mean. However, I do not know how much work this chart would be. Hence, my post "just an idea", and the idea of a quick reference. The way I see it is like a parts catalog. Spark plug brands, part number, and approx price, or Air filter brands, part number, and approx price. Just a chart for the various Subaru's on this site.

This would be great... The FAQ on the board here stinks... It's not finished, and what's there is not that great.
The search features here are terrible. I am actually looking for Oil Filter part numbers, and it's taking forever to search every forum. (on an unrelated note, the trunkmonkey section is 3 months old... content rot...) |

http://members.nbci.com/_XMCM/northu...za/impreza.htm Oil and air filter part numbers would be very helpful too, but I don't have immediate access to that, so if you do, post part number, manufacturer, model, and model year (ie: Bosch fuel filter 3400s08 1998 Impreza L) and I will add it. Your right BrianX,
I don't know what the moderators and Alex do with their spare time. After all, all they have to do is moderate 30 different forums, the memebers section, keep an eye on 359,516 posts, listen to 6538 different people whine about their great new idea. (I like this one though) or why they are offended by whoever. On top of that they actually have lives outside this club. *gasp*, yes I know but they have better things to do than to cater to you, or anyone else that dosn't think this site is "good enough". So besides, jobs, family and other hobbies, they have a car they love. And doing it is better than talking about it. Which brings me to my next point. Why don't you put together a site that is better. Or offer to help this one. No? Well have a big glass of shut the he77 up then! My apologies to anyone offeneded. |

GQ,
If you want to, I will work with you on this project. I alredy have a bunch of part #'s for differnt stuff. I will get it together and we can go over what is missing and look it up here. We can put it in one big notpad file and make it easy to intergrate onto this site. We can throw it into the FAQ section. J. your right people probably won't see it or use it, but at least when they ask it will only require one reply: Check the FAQ's, all the parts are there. GQ, I will have to see if I can get with Brian (NU) and steal all the part#'s that he has. Let me know. ![]() |

North Ursalia:
I have used your site and even contributed a part number. It is by far the most useful thing to come out of a personal home page in a long time. I ordered lots of stuff through my friend at the local dealership just by supplying the part numbers. |

<FONT face="Comic Sans MS">Why thank you very much!
But if you all take a look at the HUGE URL I gave, you will find that it is not the parts number pages, but something altogether different that I'm working on . North Ursalia, I actually found another thing I was looking for on your site, after searching for 30 minutes to find it... (RS FLoormats...) Thanks for compiling this list! Perhaps someone can dust off the faq or links section and add your site?
I ordered oil filters and crush washers yesterday (with the floormats) from subaruparts.com, if no one else sent them, I can give you the part numbers tomorrow. On the 'owners have a life' note, I understand that. But, delegate. North Ursalia has a great parts listing. Add it to the site! Get people to help out. Ask for voulenteers... I offered to make a superfaq a few months back and people just kind of shrugged it off. |
