Default New G-Oil Formula!

I sent an e-mail to G-Oil saying:
Quote:
I would like more stats on the oil that you provide. Would any of your oils be compatible with VW 502, etc? Do any of your oils have a HTHS greater than 3.5? It's hard for any enthusiast to choose your oil if we have no data.
I mentioned VW 502 because I'm mainly trying to see if it would be good for my girlfriend's VW Beetle (which requires VW 502).

They responded with:
Quote:
We agree as well! Currently our website is going through a bunch of changes to handle all the new oils, additional studies we have done on our oil, and of course a statistical section of testing! But we have got you covered. Below is our rating for the black bottle currently on store shelves, and our new blend that will be found in the new labeled bottle. Also in the future once we get everything to SN and GF-5 ratings, we will be going after Audi/VW ratings! Keep an eye on the website as many things are changing and new things released all the time!

Higher VI, flashpoint, nearly half the volatility, and a solid 3.6 HTHS. TBN is higher as well. If they keep doing the $26 mail in rebates (essentially free oil), then why not?

Wow! That's a nice improvement in NOACK volatility and is probably due to the ester base stocks. Only oils like Red Line have those kind of numbers. I might have to try this cow fat oil sometime unless they go out of business first. I presume this is the 5W-30. They're coming out with a 5W-40 as well.

I'm pretty sure the 5w-40 is the "VW 502" rating they're going after. Should be interesting to see how it fairs.

If anyone wants to test this out and do a UOA, be sure to post your results (I just changed mine w/ GC a day before they sent this to me :P )
