Default Can I use the VF39 map to limp my VF48 setup to the tuner?

I am in a slight predicament. I will be installing a VF48 and supporting mods into my '07 WRX this weekend. I have an appointment setup for Monday to get a dyno tune. The car will not be driven except to leave the driveway to make the 10 mile trip to the tuner.

I am curious if it is safe to flash the VF39 or 18G map onto my WRX for the drive from the house to the tuner?

If this is not feasible, is there anything else you would recommend?

Mod list will be:
- VF48
- STI TMIC / hoodscoop splitter / bellows
- Walbro 255 fuel pump
- SPT intake
- 3 port EBCS

Have you talked to your tuner?

Many can send you a temporary map to get you to their shop before the tune.

You can prolly flash the vf39 map on your car and beat the snot out of it on the way to the tuner and it will prolly be fine. i dont recomend beating it up without datalogging but the turbos are so similar that you should have zero issues running it to the tuner on that map

Thanks for the input guys. I talked to the tuner and decided to have him install the turbo and tune the car all at once. So I'm dropping the car off with him today and picking it up Thursday.

Can't wait!

This is the way to go. The EBCS is what would make me wary of using the VF39 OTS map. Enjoy your new power!

That's what I was thinking. It wasn't clear whether the ebcs was already installed and tuned for.
