This is a bad picture but you should get the drift. |

Only because I met you at 8Complex's bbq..
I will make fun of you.. Looks like you have that intake insulated against engine heat, but you don't have any kind of cold air box??!! ![]() Even a sheet of cardboard will help.. --- Look me up in a week or so and we can try to put together a cardboard template. It should be like the RalliSpec cold air shield with the tube resting on top of the shield near the rear. ![]() |

Have you done any temperature readings to find out how much it actually helps? I saw a few rally cars this last weekend (and in the past) running pod filters in the engine bay but none of them were using any kind of shielding, including the Prodrive prepped cars. They have turbo heat shields though.

Peaty used some dataloggers and posted some results last year.. Which is why the Cobb intake pulls from the fender..
All you really need to do is go for a drive and stick your hand in the shield side then on the engine side. There is a difference in temp.. The real reason I'm doing this is to finish building the rain shield for the filter so I can leave my vents open again. It'll look like my RalliSpec intake shield. ![]() |
