Why would you want to show off your mud flaps? They're ugly plastic flaps... why make them stand out? I say don't do it but it's your car. Maybe ask someone in the Photoshop Request thread to make a chop of what it would look like before you spend money on them.

Lol. Car Prly has bad rod knock and needs a rebuild or swap in a long block. Car is also automatic so that decreases demand and adds to the potential buyers to do list. Not a bad price at all if someone has a swap this would be a great deal! Perfect project car.

Question, any of you guys ever get a, "raw" fuel smell coming through your vents. I brought my car in for an oil change the other day and noticed ever since then when I use my heat it smells like gasoline...

Figured out my raw fuel and oil smell... This is scary, so I finally get a chance to check my car out as its nice out and long behold, they forgot to put my oil cap on after the oil change at the dealer! Wtf I found the cap chillin next to the battery and a nice layer of oil smattered all under my hood and on my engine.
This is why I hate not working on things myself, but without a garage and the simplicity of an oil change, I didn't think a dealer would foul up That bad. I'm pissed. |

Bro, I am so pissed and they are not even open today... I guess that's what I get for taking it to the Bronx. Only reason I was going was that its close and was convenient. Fml

Get a Fumoto valve (oil drain valve) and a set of low profile ramps. Makes changing your own oil super easy and much quicker. Also, you can get 5 quarts of synthetic and a filter for like $25. A synthetic oil change at a shop/dealer is like $90.
That's how the motor in my Jeep blew. Shop drained the oil, forgot to put NEW OIL BACK IN, I drove home and within a day or two the motor blew. I went back to the shop, they gave me a run around and to come back on Wed when the owner would be in. I went back Wed... they were closed... for good... out of business. ![]() |

Yea the Bx was charging me round 40-50 pending on if I had a coupon Lol. Thanks donzo I shall look into that valve. Sucks because the only places I have to change my oil would be my brothers place up in Brewster or my moms driveway in Putnam valley... A nice drive from my shoebox apt in New Rochelle Lol.
Also, I was looking into t6 for my car, but have seen that only 5w-30 is spec'd in the manual and it has to be eco both of which, t6 is not. I don't want to have watrentee issues god forbid with the piston issue with these motors. Which is odd as time after time people post UOA's with good results with t6... Anyways, you guys doing anything Tom? I may be up in putnam valley, perhaps a mini meet / lunch? |

T6 since day one, my dealer replaced a long-block and 2 turbos with T6 in the case, (not because of T6,LOL), just as long as the obvious stuff is in place, the dealer wont get over the top tech with ****, like check oil weight..they look for neglect, which if you have half a brain you can get around anyway..the dealer ruins more cars than we ever could, of course you just saw this first hand! ... if your not tuned, and change oil frequently, it really doesn't matter what you use.. And with the piston issue, that's subarus boner, and problem to begin with, they left no room for the rings to expand, even more of a reason to go with the protection of a 40w+, now I heard they're letting customers use aftermarket pistons and keeping warranty! also, they recommend 5-30 because it allows for better MPGs, and they sell a 5-30, these motors shear down 5-30 pretty quick, of course I dont recommend to do any of the above, its just my opinion..
