What's up guys? I'm going to be making the trip from El Paso to San Antonio for a couple weeks for ALC over at Ft. Sam. I'll be getting there Feb 23 and will be there until the first week in April. Hoping to catch a meet or two while I'm there if there are any going on. Hopefully I'll have my RS back in time.

I haven't washed it yet because every time I go to do so it's set to rain the next day. Normally I do wash every week or two as needed, but lately it seems as if the timing is just never right.

I JUST got done washing and cleaning the interior. I hate detailing the car because I can't do anything half assed, it ends up taking me forever. Took me the last 3 hours, and I didn't even clay bar or wax the damn thing.

JMS or Norbilt? Just ordered my new turbo from Japan and am going to have to get a tune. My first tune was from JMS with a stage 2... but said i was at 202 at the wheels after my tune with a free TBE, AEM CAI and EBCS. Seems kinda low to me, but my next tune there is only 125.... vice the 400 id have to do at Norbilt.... buuut Norbilt is WAY closer to me because i live on the NW side of town.
I'd go JMS

Chad is the tuner at Noribilt, and he's been tuning and doing custom work on cars for well over a decade having worked at other performance shops prior to Nori.

Jorge and the guys at JMS no one knew about before 2006-7 and may or may not have gotten professional training on ECU tuning since then.

Personally Id go up to Austin to go COBB.

Yup, they only do R&D, no customer tuning. You can go there and buy parts instead of waiting on shipping. I'd call to make sure they have the parts though.

Jorge at JMS is actually a Certified COBB Pro Tuner! JMS is the only Certified COBB Pro Tuning shop in San Antonio! Check COBB's website under Pro Tuners

You know you only had to write that once, right? But I'll rephrase, regardless of the "certification" I'd rather take it someplace with a proven track record (no pun intended) that's been in the business of tuning for longer than 5 years. But to each their own.

Here's a question for you...do you know what's required to become a pro tuner? You'd be surprised. But it's something that adds credibility for sure and something I'd look for in addition to a good amount of experience and a thorough understanding of the multitude of parameters within an ECU and more importantly how they work together to create safe power.

Experimenting on your own car and reverse engineering other shop's tunes for years doesn't cut it for me as a consumer. Not saying that's what they did but just generally.

That much power first gear in the STi is going to be worthless. The newer STi transmissions would be ideal since they changed the gear ratios.

I would seriously be looking into a well built racing 5spd. With a 6spd you will be shifting a lot and quickly unless you had a built racing 6spd.
