Default Tuesday Starbucks East Brunswick Meet/Chat 3

thread 3, now with more newbs, but seriously can we keep the derp-ness to a minimum?

for new guys here is the location of the meet:

300 Route 18 North
East Brunswick, NJ 08816

the green arrow is where we meet.
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=40.45542,-74.398065&hl=en&num=1&t=h&z=20
we DO NOT meet at the starbucks itself, that is just the most visible place from rt 18.

the meet takes place in the parking lot in front of SPORTS AUTHORITY, all the way in the back. people start showing up around ~730, then we go get food so come hungry.

this ISN'T subie only, we are all car people. its more chill and relaxed, just don't be a douchebag, if you see us standing, come introduce yourself to the group! don't just walk around all sketchy then get in your car and leave. also, please don't ruin it for us who have been meeting for a while now. which mean don't rev and don't fly through the parking lots.

THE MEET IS ALWAYS ON. for the past years we've been meeting snow rain or shine. if anything just read, most likely meets happen every week whether is 2 people or 20.

rules are simple:

t3H f1rst p0st!11!!!11!!

Kind of impressive that we're already on our 3rd thread.

Just ordered my Hawk HPS brake pads. I was going to buy lines and fluid, but decided I don't really have the money for extra spending and the lines really don't help with actual braking so it would just be a waste. Who wants to help me with swap . I've changed pads a few times before but tend to sometimes forget stuff.

Im open to suggestions....trying to shoot for something semi practical that I can lug around all my climbing crap in and that wont fall apart if it touches a dirt road.

I guess you also missed the part where I said I don't have money for extra spending.
And the fact that I came to you guys to buy a **** ton of gaskets for over 100$ knowing that I could have bought a package from iir or something for damn close to half that.

It's ok I'm at 2x,xxx miles I'll bring my car in for it's 30,000 mile maintenance to y'all so everyone gets a fair shot at my wallet.

^ Adam, sounds like you're looking at another Wrx lol.

i say go for that foz...it was real nice, and i'm pretty sure they still have it and will give you an insane deal on it.

you just have to figure out what you want to give up. space or performance. can't necessarily have both with that budget. maybe get a diesel VW? 700 to a tank sounds amazing right now.

also do you care if you lose AWD? this winter was beyond mild. there are quite a few cars coming out this summer, including the impreza XV which looks really nice. its basically a new ten of OBS. its kind go lifted, and is bigger than an impreza, but smaller than a foz.

this is what it's 'supposed' to look like.

Just get a WRX. I guarantee you will regret otherwise. A hatch has plenty of room, I'm not really sure how much you need, but I don't really know anyone under the age of 25 who absolutely needs a huge car and can't make due with a hatch and a roof rack or something. That impreza outback thing looks pretty cool, and foz's are nice too, but they're no WRX and will never be. The way I see it, if you do decide on that, you will feel like you just downgraded quite a bit.

Might be a bit of downgrade in performance but saving money isn't bad either. Want to save some money for a house in the future.

I'm still thinking of that foz too.....

Fair enough. (Should have PMed us, we can usually match whatever price you got on brakes as we have a pretty good distributor for them).

why on earth would you buy a used one? if you're going to buy used either buy something you can't easily get or do yourself like dave's turbo miata case, or buy something ultra nice, like a 5-series or something like that.

Are you telling me that you allowed people to obtain their proper hearing for the rest of the day? So proud of you. You and I need a Panera sesh to discuss future car plans.
