I don't know why its taking so long. But I doubt I'll mod that car anymore. Or really just care as much. And the body shop doesn't keep me posted, they didn't answer me when I asked if they are using OEM parts or remanufactured crap the insurance company quoted me.

Its all one big who knows wtf is going on process.

Which shop is doing it? You have the right to insist on any shop you want to do the work

Well the shop we went to was the same. They said the car would be ready Friday. Come Friday, no call or contact.

Called Monday and they said it's going to take longer. Then got a call Wednesday it's done.

I didn't ask which parts were used, but I figured from the invoice they gave me the parts were OEM (the plastic fender piece).

Was this shop rec'd by insurance?

Thanks for the info! Goes to the adjuster on Sunday. Hoping for a *decent* rental while it's at the shop.

Yupp, what insurance do you have? And if you want local, go to bostiks. The work they do is sick, lots of drift and show cars come outta there, real chill guys.

And the new rental, I really really like. Chevy sonic is damn nice for a 16k car. Remote start, Bluetooth, auto headlights. Etc etc. I'd so get it for a dd economic car.

My bug eye was in an accident awhile ago, no matter what I did I couldn't get NJM to get me knew parts. Everything was used and I have already replaced a part. Hopefully they don't do the same to you and if they do I suggest sell it lol.

I need to stay local because I don't have any other transport at the moment to go further away. It's def not a show car, but I worked hard to buy and maintain it. So even tho they are just spider cracks, I want it fixed and I want it fixed right.

I have Geico, but she tazed me while I was fully stopped at a RED light (Plainfield/Rte1) so I'm putting it thru her insurance, All-State.

So got the Hankook V12s on. Mixed feelings. It's a lot more comfortable to ride on, more like an all season tire. However, it still has a decent amount of grip. They're still being broken in, but they definitely aren't as grippy as the OEM Dunlop Sport 01s. But for 1/4 of the price, I really can't complain.

Well from reviews, people get ~20k miles out of them. Which should be about 4 years, at which point the rubber has deteriorated anyway. Plus, I got the warranty so in case I break the tire or a nail goes in, they will send me a new one free.

They don't send you a new one if a nail goes in. They reimburse you for a patch iirc. And 20k in 4 years... lucky

Well, for UMDNJ, it's in stratford so I haven't decided whether to commute or just live there. So mileage could change either way lol.

And most reviews classify the v12 as glorified all seasons. I was going to go with them, but am pretty glad I didn't.

And Ivan, if I were you, I would honestly just go there and see for myself what the deal with the car is. That's the only way with some mechanics and body shops now-a-days...

They aren't the best tires, but for the price of 4 being less than 400 bucks installed minus what I can get back by selling the other 3 is decent.

Jmessin, go to bostick's. Its in edison on oak tree road, you won't be disappointed I promise. Gut who owns it is a magician when it comes to cars

As far as my car is concerned, got a call today, it should be done by next week, but I highly doubt it will be in time for pagoda at all. Hell I'd be lucky to get it back in time to ATLEAST do coilovers.

Still haven't decided if I'm throwing all the power mods back.

Thanks man! Slow and steady, just trying to improve each shot as I take them. I've posted shots in the local thread down here, and the vendors/shops that participate in it have asked my what kind of camera I use
