Then at a stoplight, decided to walk up to my window, call me a punk, and spit on my window while i laughed at his face for being salty. Hope anyone who reads this gets a good chuckle as i did lol

Wow. I once had a woman try and pull me out of my car at the gas station.

that's the best thing to do.. the other dude is going to be SOO frustrated that you were laughing and he doesn't get the satisfaction on yelling at someone.

How many miles do you plan on doing for your break in?

IMO I would do about 1500 for safe measure. Oil change at 500 and at 1000.

Break in by reving up and engine breaking slowly. Run up the rpm slowly gradually, and let the engine bring down the rpms. Don't stab the throttle at all. After initial start up don't let it idle for extended periods of time. Drive it normal even into boost. Avoid going into neutral. 500 miles should do it, honestly. That's how I'm gonna do mine.

Oh and use convential 5w30. Valvoline has a turbo specific oil, and I also like Pennzoil.

Hey, welcome to the area. Maybe I'll see you around as I'm in that area all week.

As far as tuning. It depends how far you're willing tovrravel and what youre looking to do. Most of us in this thread swear by EFI LOGICS. they are about 2 hrs away in Connecticut, and most of us are tuned by them.

However this area is rich with great shops. There is Akuma motorsports in woodbridge, precision tuning in brick, and sti mikey who can tune you at akuma, or road tune you where you want. Like I said do some research to decide where you want to go, but here, in this thread, most will recommend efi logics.

As far as alignment AZP INSTALLS just finally got their alignment rack squared away so give them a ring, akuma motorsports also does race spec alignments and corner balancing. There is also a shop in fairfield called euro tire but they are a hike and cost a fortune. I say pm azp installs. They are a vendor, very local and very affordable.

Cheers.

Like ivan said...many good options. I can set you up with ray or junior of turbotek as well. Road or dyno tune, reasonable prices.

Welcome to the area!

Depending on what kind of tuning you need, our suggestions are Precision for drag racing, EFI for street driven or road race tunes.

Remember when a road tuner takes your car out for a tune, your insurance will not cover the accident, and the road tuner doesnt have insurance to be road tuning. Im not downplaying road tuning, but just want to make you aware of the potential down sides.

We have been supporting the tri state subie guys for 11+ years and love every minute of it. Our resume includes road racing, and being road race and HPDE instructors. As Ivan said we just recently acquired a digital alignment machine and will shortly have our scales to do corner balancing. We bring years of road racing and testing to our arsenal. we are setup to handle just about anything you need on your subie from an oil change up to a motor build. Some we do in house, some we send out on behalf of our customers. Either way we will always point you in the safe direction!
