Try 240-250WHP for a STR S2K.

Just what the local guys tell me they got on the dyno. Having driven one, I have no reason to not believe them.

Obviously, no dyno reads the same. The car I drove was tuned by Surgeline in the Northwest.

Yeah Bill is probably talking about Colin Fiedlers STR car which is certainly prepped to what the rules allow and I think it made 220whp/150ft-lbs. Obviously dynos all read differently but 240+ is a bit optimistic. Probably doable on an e85 tune if the injectors can keep up.

I think it's a little early to know what a fully prepped Toyobaru will do since headers are scarce as is tuning. The only tune with header I saw showed no gains for the header over the regular tuning. He was able to get close to 200whp on e85 with basically just tuning. Should be interesting to see developments over the next few months. I'm committed to CS next year but more power sure would be fun.

I have heard that 240 number from other people though. I know Matt Braun was talking about that as being the number for the STR S2000, might just be from dyno's that read high though.

STX for 2013?

Default

I wish my $$$ situation was different and I was going to Nats in the fully prepped 08' WRX, (and JW2 as well to showcase what the car truly had in it.) I think the 2.5 WRX probably have pretty close to the same performance potential when it comes down to it as the BRZ, if not a bit more.

All this talk of the BRZ possibly being an overdog still has to wait for anything to beat a well driven E36. Will they be in the trophy's ? No doubt, well driven and prepped, but that last second of the 2 1/2 seconds is obviously the hardest to come up with and will put you 6-8 places down this year, I'll wager(not including the aliens like Heitkotter and Tovsen)

I'll be interested to see how Todd Roberts from our club does in his MS-3.

When he switched to wider tires up front, he was pulling away, and has been performing really well in PAX locally, and our club's pretty full of people prepping for nationals.

https://axwaresystems.com/axorm/file...ug2012_pax.htm

All in all, with the addition of the BRZ, it will really make STX the most diverse, and if you want it to be, affordable class in Solo(if you'd like a car that still has the possibility of being daily driven to an extent). I'll be putting the E46 in it likely next year, with of course, no aspirations whatsoever.

Just in: SUBARU Service Bulletin: 02-132-12 dated today explains the procedure for the P0019 and other codes... Explicit instructions on how to fix/duplicate/Troubleshoot along with warranty times..
Advise from my dealer...Drive it until the light comes on again...bring it in..and they will fix it...hope it doesn't come on during my trip to Indy...

Drive it. It will surprise you both good and bad. If it has under 1000 miles, dont be surprised if its even slower than you expected.

That's great news!

Given that it's a TSB, I'd take it right in and tell them to fix it ASAP. No waiting around and no fooling around... At this point I don't know how the dealer could rationalize any other alternative.

I know I mentioned the E85 tune before but saw some new results on the ft86 forum.

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/attac...4&d=1345608361

Makes quite a bit more power than the 93 tune and the fuel system seems up to the task. This isnt tuned to the bleeding edge either.

It looks like Ecutek may be the only tuning solution on the block for some time unless you want to go piggyback or standalone. I messaged someone at Cobb I know from way back and they have no interest in building anything for the car, not even an exhaust.

I didn't realize they had such low torque numbers, but I guess it makes sense, being that it's a 4 cylinder and I'm comparing it in my head to 6's with at least an extra 0.5 liter.

Still, though, at under 2600 lbs, if the other lightening mods get done, I gotta guess that it will still be pretty close to a well prepped e36, when weight is traded for torque.

It will be interesting to see.

That dyno sheet I linked to might be the lowest I've seen for the car. Most dynojet sheets are around 165whp/140ft-lbs. it was more about the percentage gained over stock with the tune.

The car is only rated at 151ft-lbs stock, just a 2L 4 cylinder

Wow! I LOVE that new oil filter location! Subarus had one of the best filter locations to begin with, right on the bottom orthogonal to the ground. I know it's not the point of the thread but it's blowing my mind. Epic!

Dyno will tell if I actually picked up any HP. but for now..I like it.

That is actually a nice intake setup for DIY. Is it legal? Can't remember if intakes were unlimited in ST.

Hrmm...i heard differently from the guys here in Texas. That was a while ago, before the car was released though.

Hope it's not true.

In street touring you can do anything you want on the inlet side of the throttle body. Can't touch the throttle body its self though. Long story short, it's legal.

Those are all carryover parts from other cars which happen to work on the BRZ. They haven't developed anything specific for the BRZ and according to multiple sources they won't be.

Find it hard to believe given their perpensity for fabrication and the production abilities they have in Austin. Not saying you are wrong...I don't know for sure...just seems like a lot of money they'd be letting slip through the cracks.

I know Treys not much for letting money slip anywhere.
