Default One for the Record Books..... WOW (please dont close)

Well I was heading North on US 19 tonight and I saw a Silver 2.5RS (looked like either 2000 or 2001) and a Silver WRX with an injen liscense plate cover.

So I was following them because I noticed them kinda playing with each other so I thought I would prasue and see where it went

Well they got to a stop light and when it hot green they took off and the 2.5RS, yes I said the 2.5RS NA SOHC 165HP Car pulled the 2.0 Turbo WRX like the kid was driving a Volkswagen Rabbit.

It seemed like 4th or 5th gear the WRX finnly started to climb (but to bad it was like a lizard climbing the swiss alps) on the 2.5

I was curious if these 2 cars were members of the club? And whats with the wrx did he not know how to shift or did he maybe leave his e-brake up????

Sorry to post about a Street Race, its just I didnt think I would see a WRX get pulled like that..

It IS possible that the 2.5 had a turbo kit :-D Ya never know with one of those. There are a LOT you can do to them. 2.5's with a Tec II can whoomp on a WRX. But who knows..... it could be that the poor WRX driver was just that, poor.

Also if the RS was turbo that thing would have pulled like a monster in 3rd.... Right???

that would prolly have been me...2 silver subarus would be driving together down us 19 near holiday twice in one day would be quite strange!! I was hoping that the wrx was either a gear higher than it should have been or not flooring it, but if all was good then damn I can't wait to get my turbo bolted on.

When you see me I'll have a permanent on my face...more so than I usually do!!! hah...word

Edit: WHen I posted the computer slowed down and all that was posted was "I'll have a permanent D on my face..." Definitely won't see that happeneing!!!!

hehe the same thing happened to me last weekend ago or so. A red RS followed me up to a light and we talked for a sec. We agreed to go on the green and his passenger had a video camera taping.

Before the light went green we both get our revs up and boom we both went, the only problem was that he left the line lighting up all 4's. And, I left the line (barely) bogged and then finally began to pick up acceleration. By that time he already had 2-3 car lengths on me. That was okay though because by the time I was at the 1-2 shift I was at his rear bumper and from there it was rape. I blew by him and hope his friend got that on tape.

BTW, I was on my way to the dragstrip and later ran my best time of 12.8 @104 along with several 12.9's out of 6 runs. The drag strip surface and the street surface are very different and that was my problem.

HaHa nice job Eric. I think I might know the person in the silver WRX. Did it have a louder than stock blow off valve. Also was it a younger person. If so, let me know so I can harass him. Take care -KEVIN-

I'm consistant 1.8's with my best of 1.808 (I've actually duplicated 1.808 two times now...weird huh). Now, if you had ET'd my 60' on the street that day against the RS, it was probably like a 2.5 60' I mean, it was embarrasing to say the least.

I gotta say, that dude had the best lauch in an RS that I've ever seen before. I have no idea if had anything done to the engine. I know for sure he had removed the axleback part of the the exhaust system and some exterior mods.
