They look like they're XXR's... I've seen a couple of XXR 527's completely cracked in half.

The stock rims would have taken that hit with no problems!

Don't ask me how I know

I gave up on all-season tires a while ago. My driving style doesn't permit such antics.

Tirerack comparison of OEM all season vs. dedicated winter tires.

I agree, but it doesn't really snow in Southern VA. However, it does get too cold for summer tires.

Also make sure you are aware of the characteristics of the performance winter vs. a studless snow and ice tire.

My repairs are supposedly up to like $12.5 now but since that exceeds the book value of the car will it be totaled?

One damages reach 3/4 value if the car it is consider totaled... If you have reach 100% or exceeded the value it's gone

Not always true, but it's a good rule of thumb. In the case of my WRX, most of the damage apparently was mechanical (wheels, suspension, etc) versus labor intensive body repairs. That's why insurance fixed it.

Started the long awaited Tranny rebuild project after waiting 9 months to get all parts and various kinks out of the way, the build began! Pictures to come!

should be true. The industry standard used to be 80%, they moved it back to 75% a few years ago(my dad and a few friends are in insurance)
Its always up to the discretion of the adjuster. Often times you can nudge them either way if you want/dont want it to be totalled.

We'll my composite TGVD's came in, ordered a bigger compressor cover for the new billet wheel, bought the factory ram air thingy, made a radiator shroud that covers all the gaps, got all my preturbo exhaust coated and rewrapped, plus got some reflective tape on order! Next up is a little porting to the intake manifold and throttle body and ill be done a ready to put it all together...

This little 2.0L is gunna scream when I'm done an love the beating I give it

Looked at it, wondering how much sexier it'll be after I get the coils/rear control arms/h-brace on tomorrow.

There's bushings for the actual diff housing and there's also some that fill the void in the outriggers. Guessing you got the ones for the housing? Those made a world of difference in my WRX.

Yesterday, I replaced the stock pitch stop mount with the Beatrush forged aluminum piece, IC>TB hose with a blue silicon Gimmick hose, and installed the blue PTP turbo blanket.

All of these turned out to be a bitch and the entire project took ~5 hours =/

Maybe I just suck.

On the upside, the car sounds great, I'm loving the NVH from the pitch stop, it doesn't sound like there are any boost leaks (although I have yet to do some logging to ensure this is true), and the heatshield is slightly cooler than before.

Yay me.
