This thread is worthless without pictures.

Nomad says, Nope. They don't. Not at all. They aren't bad, but they aren't great either. Not nearly enough siping. Tread blocks are too large to work well in rain. They have great standing water channels for running straight through puddles but nothing for high load cornering in the wet. They are set up for high G force cornering in dry conditions. There are better choices out there for rain. Better choices out there for the dry weather too. They are merely a good all around street tire. Been completely through 2 sets of them over 5 non-winter seasons, so I feel qualified to comment.

Ask anyone who followed me from Seward last year. Star Specs do not like rain.

I don't have a photbucket but everyone is more than welcome to look at my fb I'm Jeff Gregory so yea but dodged a moose but couldn't dodge the pole due to lack of traction as in literally no traction with star specs in snow. Sucks because I was headed home to swap tires to. Oh well though insurance is covering it and they said they can put a sti bumper and fenders on, so yay for wide body wagon.

Guess you don't have to worry about that fender Paul punched in.
Too soon?

Driving back from Fairbanks today was pretty sketchy, all the way from Nenana almost to trapper creek. This is the first time I've ever still had summer tires on after it snowed, it's, interesting.

Was waiting on my winter rims to be finished with paint. But I wasn't expecting snow that day otherwise I would've had them on and the last snow melted as soon as it hit the ground where I was at so yea. But it's just a bad situation and a unfortunate accident but I'm glad I got insurance. But yea guess that fender will finally be replaced. Lol.

Well as someone else pointed out it is half the year, it's not like you're just throwing them on for a couple months.

Rusty's doing everything he can to check himself out of Winter Mode.

Some paint them to be seen in the beautiful, white, dark winter wonderland.

Waste of time with all the rocks that are all over the road all winter long.

I don't understand the hip, hip hop colors but when it comes to winter itself, we have it for like 7 months. So to me you have to stare at whatever your car sits on much longer than the summer season, so might as well be something decent.

Once the season is over, little Dolphin Glaze repair and repaint to fix em up for next year.

BTW, thanks for the tip. I gave them a call and they had no issues at all. Shipping went from $30 UPS ground to ~$4 USPS.
