That rain was bad on the way back. So I get to my mechanics house after the meet and they sold me the pads for GT I ended up at 4 part stores before I found a place that had them in stock. Then I ended up spending $50 on plugs and wires NGK irrioudum or something.

well, double checking the dealerships horrid work, noticed a few things they ****ed up on my car....seriously, when will they learn, noticed on the ticket though they charged SOA for a fuse box cover....yea mine is cracked from there ****ty work and i never got the new one they ment to replace it with. That and i notice a noise, after tracking it down and noticing when it did it, tracked it to the fuel pump. Subaru claims they didn't everything they could to fix my car, but didn't notice a horrid sounding fuel pump? Good to know their "master techs" lack the intelligence to do a simple task. Good thing they called it a "Goodwill" repair, think I could have got better work and a better motor from the goodwill.

Troll Boy, I feel you - big time.

In the last year, I've had three people work on my Subie. One was an official dealership recall (fuel line), one was a local "trusted" shop, and one is a Subaru "master mechanic" doing work on the side.

Here are my results.

* Following install of a new AC Compressor and adding freon, lack of attention to detail on fitment leads to frayed and busted $75 Samco radiator hose. This could be avoided by testing fitment after you turn on the damn car.

* Forgetting to screw a valve cover screw after a gasket change leads to a loss of almost 2.5 quarts of oil in four days and almost a blown engine. I actually made a video of me being able to turn one of the screws by hand. WTF.

* After getting the fuel line recall, I discovered that the mechanic did not make sure a fuel line zebra clamp was tight enough under pressure, leading to fuel getting sprayed all over the engine whenever the car's on.

Never again... I swear. Never again. I only let people work on the WRX when I legally have to (freon) or require some specialized skill/tool, or I've got no damn time. But apparently no one can double check thier work anymore. Trust no one. I now roll with a fire extinguisher in my project car, no joke.

It's pathetic that shadetree machanics are becoming more legit than "master mechanics."

truth

ive always preferred knowing the people, even tho like i told you on FB, i haven't taken my car to anybody for anything except wheel mounting/balancing, alignments, or body work, and even then i have to know somebody to have any peace at all about it. Even then it can suck b/c the time before last a friend had some guy at his shop install my super nice tires n the balance was WAY off

After my car heats up and has been driving for about 5-10, I shut off my car and then turn the ignition on to start the car again, when I do and the fuel pump is priming it sounds like the fuel pump is gurgling, like it has air in the pump. Is there a way to check the pump for pressure? And flow rate? Or just an off on test?

I installed my new Swift coilover springs this weekend. They improved the ride far more than i had expected. I've never ridden in a car with expensive coilovers, but this must be what they feel like. The car feels a million times better now.

Heres a picture of the ISC springs (black) vs. the Swifts (gold). The Swifts are longer, and actually have less coils.

Sooooo, i went to the Subaru dealer and told them i heard that someone at the dealership was talking **** about my car and lying saying i did something that i didn't. Basically about 5 minutes into that conversation the service guy was trying hard not to laugh, so i know for a fact those ******** were saying some ****, wondering if the owner of that dealership would be happy knowing their employees were talking **** about their customers, looks like when i have a little more time I'll find out.

Or if you go back there (you know who you are, don't wanna say your name if u don't want them to know) anytime soon, I'll meet you there and have a witness and i know you like screaming at people so you'll be able to do that too

and thats trife man, i dont see the GM doing anything, buuuuuuut that does suck

and Chris why did you swap out your springs? I love my swifts but they are just paired with some gr2's so they are barely a tad bit more aggressive than stock

Damn 90 seconds...lol.

I enjoyed the final day of my 3 day weekend. At least it was sunny out. Took the Catfish aka Z/28 to Pence this morning and had the front tires replaced, aligned and had them change the oil. Also the wife and I rode this afternoon and got some lunch.

I may take the wife on a dinner date Friday evening to Plaza Azteca.
