Take a weekday and go up to wintergreen, buy lift ticket and rent a board. Strap it on and give it a go, you'll have it down in an hour or 2. Skip the lessons, practice makes perfect lol.

If anyone wants one I got some free 3day 2 night stays at massanutten, only catch is that you gotta go to the sales pitch. But honestly they already know. I get them every year for being a long time owner. Anyone wants one let me know I got like 10.

I changed my HVAC controls to red(led), radio to red(bulb covers and sharpie), and key ring to red(bulb cover).

Dome light is a nice bright white led.

i'm trying to do convert everything (gauge cluster, hvac, stereo, switches) to either white or red. i don't really trust myself to do these things and my car is driven daily, so it'd have to be done within a day.

just trying to see if there's anyjuan local who has experience doing it.

i ski. it's driving me nuts that i haven't been able to go yet this season. booked a trip to Park City for MLK weekend in January, so can't justify the cost of a Snowshoe trip until Feb probably. once the "local" slopes (Wintergreen, Massanutten, Liberty, Whitetail) open, i'll be down for some day trips, no doubt.

i vote wintergreen as well for a day trip, sometime jan/feb. I wait to go to NC untill after the annual government payday, so that includes snowshoe for me as well. Feb. 5 at the earliest for me.

is Wintergreen any good? i've never been there. i only got hard into skiing about 4 years ago, and until this season, was living in Fairfax, so i went to Liberty most of the time.

any idea how it compares to Liberty and Whitetail? even not being there, i know it can't hold a candle to Snowshoe.

Well, it's no snowshoe lol. It's a little bit on the small side but its very modern, eletronic signs and gadgets everywhere. Good quality skiing at a decent price. If you have to rent, the equipment is top-notch and replaced regularly. Personally i prefer massanutten to wintergreen because it is larger, but wintergreen is so much closer, 40 mins or less from the west end of Ric.
