Saw a black 08+ STi pull out of the Oakdale mall yesterday, idk if you saw my 2011 white WRX but I think your passenger did so I waved. Also saw a silver bugeye sedan on the vestal parkway. I waved and we exchanged revs, probably noticed I had 4 other people in my car, also had a wheel chair in the trunk. You're car sounds good, just seeing if either of you are members on here.

Well, may be in the market for something new, looking more and more like my viscous couplers are going. Since I've gotten the car its needed, clutch kit, timing belt re-done, spark plugs, Radiator, and soon, struts in the rear.

:notsureifsrs: I'll know for sure Weds whats going on with it, hopefully I can get the couplers fixed/replaced somewhat cheaply, otherwise I'll be in the market. Very very tired of putting money into a car that I have payments on no less.

Quick search and I found this diy on it. Never done it myself, but it doesn't seem too difficult to swap the center differential. Don't know the price of new or used ones though.

Um thats what happens when you buy a 10 year old car...

Or you do a better job of knowing what your getting when you buy a car.

Ive done this a few times now...

Id say, If you messed up putting lights and overlays in you dash, I wouldnt try too fix the tranny.

If your worried about money I wouldnt try myself. I could end up costing you alot more. I learned the hard way years ago. $18 seal ended up costing me about 2500 bucks before I was actually trained too.Myself and a local bingo subie guy swapped out a front main seal. I more watched as he was "trained by subaru" needless too say a good amount of the tranny ate itself within about 250 miles, including my PPG mainshaft, 1st,2nd driven gears. I was taking Jean out too dinner and a beer at teh lost dog on main st. and then the car no worky.

Not trying too be a ars. just saying.

I wonder if that guy is still around bingo...

Some of you know who Im talking about depending on how long youve been around here.

I test drove the car on 3 different occasions. Had carfax and dealer maint records back to 07. Had the car put on a lift and checked out by my mechanic. So I think I did a plenty good job of checking the car out, and yeah I know **** happens when a car is older. Thanks for the advice though.

none of that stuff is going to warn you about upcoming problems. You are going to have to fix things on a 10 year old turbo AWD car. Its not like buying a camry...and even if you bought a camry you still might have unforeseen problems
